Tech Maven Caleb Denison Says Goodbye to Digital Trends, Hello CalebRated

The well known TV reviewer and tech journalist extraordinaire has announced the launch of a new company, CD Creative Media LLC and a new YouTube Channel CalebRated.

It seems like only yesterday, but it was actually close to 15 years ago, when I was introducing my friend and tech industry newb Caleb Denison to manufacturers and PR folks at CES in Las Vegas. “This guy’s one of the good ones. Send him some gear.” Little did I know that Mr. Denison would go on to become the face of Digital Trends and help that media giant grow their social media presence to one of the most impressive in the industry. With over 1.3 million followers on Instagram and even more on YouTube, Digital Trends‘ most popular host has helped redefine what matters in video format tech reviews, news and advice.

This week it seems that Caleb is striking out on his own, with a new company and a new brand across YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. The name of the channel is CalebRated (get it? Caleb Rated, like as in calibrated but different and the “rated” thing because he reviews and rates TVs and other tech gear… oh, never mind).

Caleb will continue sharing his insightful, humorous and straight-forward videos on all topics related to A/V gear, from TVs to soundbars to receivers to speakers and everything in between. (But we’re guessing a heavy emphasis on TV stuff at first since that’s what he’s best known for). We’re certain CalebRated will succeed through Caleb’s distinctive storytelling approach that “transforms complex technology topics into accessible, engaging, and entertaining narratives.” And yes, I copied that part from the press release because I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Caleb tells us that his new company, CD Creative Media LLC, will produce content to appeal to all audiences – from general consumers to cinephiles and audiophiles to casual TV hobbyists and enthusiasts alike. Caleb has that rare ability to be able to distill complex technology and industry jargon into language that virtually anyone can understand.

In Caleb’s own words, “The launch of this company represents the fulfillment of a career-long dream to lead a media company based around my personal brand and to leverage that brand to help develop new talent and creators within the tech space. I must thank each and every viewer who has supported me up to and through this moment.”

I will say our podcast with Caleb last year on the topic of the “Best TV of 2024” has been one of our most popular to date, thanks to Denison’s enthusiastic participation and insight and we look forward to having him as a guest on the show again soon.

    Great guy. Former boss over a decade ago and can’t wait to see how this plays out. DT lost their heart and soul.

        Digital Trends has filed copyright claims with Youtube, and all videos on the new channel have been taken down. If I were a betting man, I’d wager that they are making an IP claim against his new channel.
