Monster announced the Diamond Tears – Edge High Definition Music Headphones, the first in a planned family of trendsetting products to be created in alliance with J.Y. Park, founder of JYP Entertainment (JYPE).

The creation of Diamond Tears – Edge Headphones was based on and inspired by J.Y. Park’s musical talent. With 48 #1 hits in eight different countries, Park is not only Asia’s most prominent producer, composer and artist, he has become the only Asian producer to successfully crossover into the U.S. market. Producer of Rain, Wonder Girls, 2PM, 2AM, and miss A, he is also the first Asian producer to work with top U.S. artists such as Will Smith and Mase.

With a stunning cosmetic design that parallels J.Y. Park’s approach to the creation of music, the new headphone is “edgy like diamonds, smooth like tears” — edgy to stimulate you and smooth so you never tire of it and will always enjoy it. “Diamond Tears-Edge” headphones give style-conscious consumers a brand new way to enjoy all their favorite music with superior sound and performance. They bring together Monster’s world renowned audio engineering, instrumental in the creation of the breakthrough BeatsTM by Dr. Dre,TM headphone line, with J.Y. Park’s musical vision and expertise for a truly unique and powerful personal listening solution.

The Monster/JYPE alliance is part of a Monster lifestyle initiative to reach out to younger consumers around the world and to bring an energetic, international flavor to consumer electronics products. Diamond Tears – Edge headphones feature a bold, jewelry like appearance with a multi-faceted design. The sound is pure Monster — rich, powerful audio that is super detailed and accurate across all frequencies, so music sounds the way the original artist intended it to be heard.

Price and Availability
The Diamond Tears – Edge headphones by Monster will be available beginning the first quarter of 2012 for $279.95, with a new in-ear version scheduled to be available in the latter half of 2012.
