Panasonic TH-42PH30 and TH-50PH30 Plasma Displays

Panasonic today announced the PH30 Series, the newest addition to its family of HD Professional Plasma Displays. The displays are available in two models, the 42-inch TH-42PH30 and the 50-inch TH-50PH30.

The PH30 Series is the perfect display solution for bars and restaurants looking for faithful image reproduction and excellent viewability from all angles in a reliable and energy-efficient package. The displays feature a high contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1 and wide-range color reproduction surpassing the HDTV standard. These qualities also the make the PH30 Series an excellent digital signage solution within restaurants, hotels, museums, hospitals and higher education applications.

Built in the company's Amagasaki Plant in Japan, which was designed from an environmentally-responsible perspective, the PH30 Series' energy efficiency has increased by approximately 35 percent compared to its predecessor, the PH20 Series. This reduction in power consumption places the PH30 Series in line with comparable LCD professional displays without sacrificing picture quality. Like all Panasonic professional plasma displays, the PH30 Series is both lead and mercury-free.

Additionally, the PH30 Series plasmas offer a 100,000 hour service life compared to the 60,000 hour average of competitive LCD professional displays. The new display also features a front glass panel approximately 10 times as strong as that of an LCD. As a result, plasma displays can be installed without the need for additional protective glass panels, even in walkways with heavy foot traffic.

“With the PH30 Series, Panasonic can offer its customers top-of-the-line plasma picture quality in an energy-efficient and economically priced package,” said Rick Albert, VP Sales, Professional Display Solutions. “These new displays help diversify our product offering, helping to make sure our customers are outfitted with the right solutions to fit their individual needs.”

This new line of plasma displays, which can be mounted in landscape or portrait mode, features two sets of digital input and three sets of analog input connectors. Display options include touch panel overlays, anti-glare filters and speakers, as well as multiple stand and mounting solutions.

Price and Availability
The TH-42PH30 and TH-50PH30 are available now at $880 and $1,200, respectively.
