Video Industry Veteran Joins Algolith as CEO

Company Poised for Greater Success

MONTREAL, QUEBEC, March 21, 2007 – Algolith, a leading developer of video image enhancement solutions has announced the appointment of Yvan Ouellet as President and CEO. Mr. Ouellet is a highly respected executive within the digital imaging industry for film, television and video games who has already contributed to the success of a number of well-known companies, including Softimage, LOR-TECH International, and Miranda Technologies Inc.

According to Robert Young, Algolith Vice President for Sales and Marketing, “Yvan’s extensive business experience in digital imagery production systems for television, post-production, film and videogame markets will be a significant asset. He has great insight–an overall vision of the great technological stakes of the industry, and also shares the strong entrepreneurial culture that has been integral to Algolith since its founding. We are very enthusiastic about his appointment.”

Luc Lapointe, Portfolio Manager with Fondaction and member of Algolith’s Board of Directors, concurs. “Yvan has 20-plus years experience building revenue for small- and medium-sized organizations; a solid track record of consistently meeting objectives. He is results-driven with a pragmatic approach to business that will greatly enhance his ability to manage and expand this techno-centric business. Algolith’s corporate structure is solid. With more than $6.5 million that have been raised from venture capital, strategic and private investors, everything is now in place to move Algolith forward.”

Prior to his appointment, Yvan was Head of Sales for the Americas at Softimage, a subsidiary of Avid Technology Inc. and the second largest provider of 3D creation tools to the entertainment industry worldwide. During his tenure, the sales organization he built consistently exceeded the company’s strategic business development objectives.

Yvan was also co-founder and Vice President of LOR-TECH International, a systems integrator creating leading-edge content and production solutions for 3D, film and television. LOR-TECH was immediately profitable and consistently rated a top reseller in the Americas. Clients included TV networks, high-end post-production facilities, production companies, university research departments, game developers, and National Defense.

Miranda Technologies also surpassed its revenue and profitability targets with Yvan as its Vice President of Sales and Marketing during the 1990s. He also developed Miranda’s worldwide sales/branding programs, distribution channels and successfully brought the organization to its first round of investment.

A member of the Quebec Order of Engineers and 1983 Engineering Graduate from the University of Sherbrooke, Yvan’s contributions to the digital imaging industry began immediately after graduation, beginning with practical, hands-on experience as Studio Engineer for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and shifting into the business arena with Adcom Electronics where he expanded its market into eastern Canada to become one of the its most profitable divisions.
