USB Traffic Control lets you take control over data entering or leaving your corporate network

CoSoSys announces today the availability of USB Traffic Control a network administration tool that gives corporations the control over what data is leaving or accessing their network through the USB Port.

USB Traffic Control is the worlds first solution that gives corporations the ability to let the network users use the increasingly important functionality of the USB Port without loosing control over data.

In a world where portable storage devices such as USB Flash Drives, digital cameras and MP3 players are virtually everywhere the theft of data through a simple connection of such a device to the company PC via a USB Port has become daily reality.

Research, facts and evidence shows that a vast majority of employees even believe that it is their right to copy sensible work files when leaving their workplace.

USB Traffic Control is designed to control usage of all USB storage and also to keep track of what data users are taking from and to their work computers to any kind of portable USB storage devices. USB Traffic Control also gives the network administrator the ability to monitor and report what data is introduced into the corporate network from a portable storage device such as prohibited material or harmful data like a virus that could jeopardize the networks integrity.

But not all portable storage devices are used with the intent to harm the company; many legitimate reasons are common for the networks users productivity. Therefore USB Traffic Control allows authorized use of “Trusted Devices” such as the companies own USB Flash Drives to copy data.

For the protection of data carried by users on “Trusted Devices” USB Traffic Control allows users to copy work data only to a password protected area on a “Trusted Device” so the companies data is protected in case of a hardware loss.

USB Traffic Control enables a strong consolidated reporting overview to the corporate management that is easily understandable.

USB Traffic Control uses the .Net framework, and is available at a competitive per seat installation fee. It can be easily deployed by the network administration in a Windows XP, active directory environment.

CoSoSys will demonstrate USB Traffic Control at CeBIT from the 9. – 15. of March 2006 in Hall 20 booth C 27.
