Combines a High-Quality Speaker with Sconce-Like Appearance and Function, Making it the First of its Kind

Custom loudspeaker solution manufacturer Triad Speakers, Inc., will debut their new InWall Silver/4 Omni Sconce loudspeaker at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas from January 7 — 10. The company’s booth is located in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, #21413.

The InWall Silver/4 Omni Sconce combines a high-quality speaker with sconce-like appearance and function. Inside each enclosure is a two-way speaker system containing a 1-inch Vifa soft dome tweeter and a 5 ½-inch Peerless woofer. It can be used full-range for distributed sound, as a main or monopole surround speaker for home theater, or with a subwoofer as primary speaker and is sonically matched to the company’s InRoom, InWall and InCeiling Omni loudspeakers.

According to the company, the InWall Silver/4 Omni Sconce represents one of the very first applications of LED lighting in the home. LED lights are ideal because they have very low power consumption, low heat generation, a very long life and are compatible with industry-standard control systems.

The InWall Silver/4 Omni Sconce is delivered with six different light tinting gel colors to choose from. Hundreds of other color gels are available to create precisely colored lighting effects. Additionally, four different grille alternatives can be custom color-matched by the company at no extra charge.

The InWall Silver/4 Omni Sconce loudspeaker is Triad’s latest addition in a series of creative new speaker designs targeted at the interior design and architect communities. The speaker’s sconce-like industrial design and lighting were developed with input from the interior design community.

“The InWall Silver/4 Omni Sconce loudspeaker is a tool for Triad dealers to help their interior design and architect partners successfully integrate high-performance audio systems into designed spaces,” says Triad’s director of sales and marketing Paul Scarpelli. “It is so unique, we are proud to say that it is the first of its kind.”

The InWall Silver/4 Omni Sconce’s LED lights simply require a 12Volt DC power supply and control switch or dimmer provided by the installer (not included). A single 5 Amp power supply is capable of running up to 125 units.

The InWall Silver/4 Omni Sconce enclosure fits a standard 4-inch deep wall. Its dimensions are: 9-9/16″ W x 12-3/8″ H x 6-7/8″ D (2-1/2″ from wall to front of enclosure). The dimensions do not include grilles, which vary in size. The InWall Silver/4 Omni Sconce weight is 7-1/2 pounds each.

The InWall Silver/4 Omni Sconce performance specs are: Sensitivity 85 dB @1W1M / Frequency Response 75-20 kHz (+/- 3 dB) / Nominal Impedance 8 Ohms / Minimum Impedance 6 Ohms / Power Handling 80 Watts continuous.

The InWall Silver/4 Omni Sconce is shipping beginning January 2008 at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $650 each.
