Thin is In With New ThinLine Ceiling-Mount Loudspeakers from Sonance

San Clemente, CA–September 14, 2006–Sonance, developer of the first consumer-market in-wall loudspeaker and an undisputed leader in equipment for the growing custom-install A/V market, will introduce new additions to its range of ultra-slim ceiling-mount loudspeakers called ThinLine at the upcoming 2006 CEDIA show in Denver, CO. The ThinLine speakers were created to effectively deliver, full-range musical and cinematic sound from locations inaccessible to conventional in-ceiling (or in-wall) speakers due to insufficient mounting depth. The result is that each of the new ThinLine models require just 77mm (3-1/32 inches) of available mounting depth.

The Sonance ThinLine family is comprised of four models, all featuring 6-1/2-inch woofers with advanced cone materials and voice-coil/magnet systems for robust, extended bass reproduction. All models boast high-performance, dynamic Ferrofluid-cooled silk-dome tweeters–the top two models featuring pivotable tweeter mounts that allow installers to fine-tune ideal imaging and coverage to the listening area. The ThinLine design incorporates the exclusive Sonance FastMount and RotoLock mounting systems for quick, easy, secure mounting – saving installers time, money, and aggravation. The two “flagship” models provide three-position (+3, 0, -3 dB) tweeter-level switches to balance overall treble output to complement room acoustics or individual preferences.

Among the ThinLine introductions, Sonance is featuring a single-speaker/two-channel model, the TL632
SSTR. This utilizes the company’s Single-Stereo Technology, which unites dual wide-range 1-inch tweeters with a single, two-channel/dual-voice-coil woofer, to provide surprisingly spatial, natural stereo sound from a single cutout and speaker location–perfect for space-starved locations such as hallways, bathrooms, or closet areas. The balance of the ThinLine family consists of the TL623R, its stereo-pair leader, which shares the carbon-fiber woofer-cone and 1-inch tweeter found on the TL632SSTR, the attractively priced TL622R (polypropylene woofer; no tweeter-level), and the TL621R (_-inch tweeter, no tweeter-pivot.

All ThinLine models incorporate understated industrial design with perforated-aluminum grilles, smooth matte finished bezels, and paintable white finish. All four speaker models can fit into the same compact cutout: 8-5/32-inches diameter which requires just a hair over 3 inches (77mm) of installation depth.
