THIEL Loudspeakers Appoints Canadian Distributor

February 25th, 2008 (Lexington, KY) — U.S. loudspeaker company THIEL Audio (www.thielaudio.com), has reached an agreement with SF Marketing of Dorval Quebec, Canada to represent the complete THIEL product line and provide full-service sales and distribution throughout Canada. SF Marketing was founded in 1978 and maintains a staff of 28 salespeople housed in an 85,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Dorval, just outside of Montreal.

In February, 2008, SF Marketing dispatched a team to the THIEL factory in Lexington, Ky. for comprehensive training on current THIEL products. Steve Freytag (General Manager-Consumer Division), Mario Leroux (Technical Support and Sales Specialist), and Rodrigo Vergara (Associate Product Manager) all attended the event. “Our strategy will be to maintain THIEL’s philosophy of selective distribution that has worked so successfully for them in the US market,” stated Freytag. “All three of us were struck by the precision with which each person does their job at THIEL,” Freytag added. “From the veneer matching and the machinists to the hand assembled drivers and final testing, everyone at THIEL puts a lot of time and effort into their craft.”

THIEL VP Ken Dawkins echoed the enthusiasm for working with a professional organization such as SF Marketing–“Although we have a few nice dealers in Canada, the geographical expanse is simply greater than we could manage on our own,” said Dawkins. “We received very positive feedback about SF Marketing from both dealers and manufacturers; they have earned themselves a stellar reputation. Additionally, we felt that there was a real synergy of personality and culture between THIEL and Steve’s team. We are all excited about working together,” Dawkins concluded.

“SF Marketing has the capacity to provide the high level of service that has been associated with THIEL for over three decades,” said Freytag. SF Marketing maintains such in-house resources as creative marketing, tech support, service, and regional sales teams located in Toronto, Halifax, Calgary and Vancouver. Additional lines represented include Genelec, TruAudio, B&K, Audiolab, Furman, Xantech and Shure among others.
