VAIO FJ Series PCs Boast Personality and Productivity
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 11, 2005 – Sony put the “personal” back into personal computer today by introducing a new line of slim, portable notebooks in five fashion colors. The new FJ series of VAIO notebooks combine portable power and productivity with a sense of style.

A constant companion that is sure to turn heads, the FJ notebook is available in a color that will complement your individual flair. Onyx Black, Pearl White, Sky Blue, Jade Green and Raspberry Red casings are accented by similar shades on the bezels and palm rests of each PC. The cool colors and thin, lightweight design make this notebook a joy to carry wherever you go.

Full-sized, comfortable keyboard and 14.1-inch (measured diagonally) widescreen display with Sony’s exclusive XBRITE-ECO LCD technology make this PC more than just a pretty face. Integrated Intel Centrino mobile technology, a lightning-fast serial ATA hard drive and advanced DDR2 memory give it the horsepower needed for ultra high-speed computing.

“Much like your clothing and accessories, your portable devices say something about who you are,” said Mike Abary, vice president of VAIO product marketing for Sony Electronics in the U.S. “These colorful new PCs make a bold statement about your personality as soon as you pull them out of your bag.”

Be Cool, Be Connected
Integrated 802.11b/g wireless LAN allows you to send email or surf the `net whether you are cruising around campus, at a Starbucks or wherever there is an available hot spot. The built-in camera and microphone make video chat a snap. Keep in touch with friends and family with virtual face-to-face conversations using widely available video conferencing software.

The FJ notebook is also well-equipped to be a home theater away from home. With the vibrant display and onboard DVD+R double layer/DVD+RW drive you can watch your favorite home movies and DVDs with stunning clarity.

The model also comes with a full suite of Sony multimedia applications, including SonicStage software for managing music in a variety of formats and Click to DVD software for easy one-click DVD mastering. To make data sharing and transfer a breeze, the notebook also comes standard with a multitude of connector interfaces, including an i.LINK (IEEE 1394) and two USB 2.0 ports as well as a Memory Stick media slot.

Sony VAIO FJ notebooks in Onyx Black will be available this month at national retailers starting at about $1,400.
