Runco Academy Graduates Praise Their Master Class Experience

Recent graduates of Runco Academy’s Master Class, Mastering the Art of Home Cinema, praise their training experience and would recommend it to their fellow industry professionals. Runco, the world leader in high-end home theater video display technology, established Runco Academy back in October of 2004, and has since graduated three groups of the finest installers of audio and video display technology. Graduates were presented their certificates personally by Sam Runco, founder of Runco International in a formal ceremony. The first three graduation ceremonies took place on October 19th, November 23rd, and December 13th, and marked the realization of Sam Runco’s long-time vision to take bold steps to upgrade the professional excellence in the home theater industry.

“We’ve established a comprehensive training program that integrates technology and sales training, and sets a new standard for professionalism among dealers and installers,” said Bob Hana, president of Runco International Inc. “Runco Academy’s Master Class, Mastering the Art of Home Cinema is an accredited training program that provides CEDIA CEUs as well as ISF qualification, and enriches installers’ perspective on how to maximize each of their theater installations. All of us at Runco are extremely proud of how well the program has started, and we are excited about continuing progress with each coming class.”

Exclusive to Runco dealers, the Master Class accreditation program addresses the needs of an evolving custom installation market, promoting the highest standards for implementing Runco’s innovative products. Through a variety of in-depth courses, held at the company’s Union City, California headquarters, attendees become experts on the capabilities of each of Runco’s displays. They learn about the technology behind Runco’s superior image reproduction and processing, and how to determine which application is best suited for specific installations. Attendees are given hands-on learning on how to set up and calibrate Runco’s products, balancing color, and comparing lens types and aspect ratios. A portion of the course focuses on the shift to digital home cinema, as well as the methods and benefits of maintaining a fully digital path from signal sources to displays. The next Master Class courses are scheduled for January 21-25, February 11-15, and March 11-15.

In addition to technical training, Runco takes course attendees on a complete tour of the Runco headquarters, including its production and engineering & testing facilities. Featured guest speakers are scheduled to talk about a variety of topics related to custom installation techniques. Attendees partake in a question-and-answer session with Runco founder and chief executive officer, Sam Runco, and receive job tools, promotional gifts, sales materials, and more.

Runco’s website complements the Academy curriculum by making available new training materials, tech tips, and online tests for past attendees. Interested Runco-authorized dealers can enroll by registering online at www.runco.com or by calling Runco International at (510) 324-7777.
