RGPC Unveils Intelligent Energy Consumption Initiative

RGPC’s CEDIA EXPO PowerVault training session will be the first step in its campaign to educate installers about possible tax credits and other benefits of power management/renewable energy systems.

CEDIA EXPO 2008 — Denver, CO — September 3-7, 2008 — Booth #1031 – Motivated both by good conscience and by a heightened nationwide interest in “green” living, Richard Gray’s Power Company announces a new campaign to educate its certified dealer base about the potential tax credits and other energy efficiency benefits that its power management systems can provide. The campaign kicks off at CEDIA EXPO 2008 with an RGPC PowerVault training session on Friday, September 5th, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Colorado Convention Center, Room 606.

“Clearly, we are not saying the PowerVault or any RGPC product is ‘green’,” said RGPC President Rick Komendera. “However, if an RGPC dealer can sell a $25,000 power management device like PowerVault because the homeowner offsets a percentage of that cost with rebates or tax credits earned by installing a renewable energy system, everyone benefits–the dealer, the homeowner and the planet.”

All RGPC product trainings and certifications now will cover tips and selling points about intelligent energy consumption. The company particularly aims to communicate best practices for making A/V installations as efficient as possible with the help of RGPC products.

For example, the RGPC Extender IP allows an installer to program time- or action-based triggers that can shut down all connected equipment, thus greatly reducing “standby” energy consumption. Many dealers and consumers remain unaware of just how much energy electronics consume in seemingly harmless standby mode; according to the U.S. Government’s ENERGY STAR program, U.S. households spend $100 a year just on standby power. RGPC customers, most of whom have more electronics in their homes than the average consumer does, likely spend even more on this silent but significant expense.

Beyond its product trainings, RGPC will further support its intelligent energy consumption initiative by sending relevant information to dealers via its “Gray Matter” newsletter. It also will address the issue in future marketing materials.

A growing number of state, local, utility, and federal incentives that promote renewable energy are available to the public. The various incentives differ from state to state, even city to city; for a full listing, RGPC encourages its dealers and their clients to visit the Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency at http://www.dsireusa.org. The site provides information about hundreds of programs that custom installers can use as valuable selling tools or differentiators when proposing new projects.

Because some RGPC power management products, such as the PowerVault, integrate with renewable energy systems, they can potentially qualify for incentives. PowerVault can dramatically increase the efficiency and reliability of renewable energy sources; it stores excess power that is created during peak generating conditions in order to deliver power when a user needs it, not just when nature supplies it. A hybrid PowerVault/generator system can reduce generator runtime and fuel consumption by up to 75 percent, while providing an indefinite supply of clean and constant AC power.

The RGPC PowerVault is ETL listed. Authorized RGPC dealers must receive certification training before they can perform installations. MSRP of the PowerVault, now shipping, starts from $24,500.

Installers interested in attending the PowerVault training can email jeff@richardgrayspowercompany.com or call (800)880-3474 x8112. For more information on RGPC, please visit their NEW WEBSITE at www.richardgrayspowercompany.com.

RGPC’s parallel technology captures and restores instantaneously high-current-on-demand, working cycle-to-cycle to satisfy power-hungry equipment while rejecting power spikes and smaller surges that lead to premature failure of sensitive electronics. RGPC products are proudly manufactured in the U.S.A. and are sold solely through its network of professional audio/video dealers and installers.
