Ballston Spa, New York–July 9, 2008– ReQuest, the preeminent manufacturer of digital media servers has added two important new features to its acclaimed iQ Whole House Music System. An all-new on-screen HDTV GUI (graphical user interface), and Sirius satellite-radio compatibility, arrive together in a new software update v4.6.3, which will be released the week of July 14th.

Graphical On-Screen Interface
The new iQ TV GUI provides full-screen graphics that allow users to navigate various control functions of the iQ Music System on any HD television in 720p format with fast, “pop-up/down” response. Any conventional infrared remote control can incorporate command of the TV-GUI using simple, easily “learned” or pre-programmed codes. Basic cursor-commands–up, down, left, right, and enter–manage most graphical navigation, while discrete IR commands for control and selection by music genre, playlist, album, track and artist, as well as commands for “play now,” “play next,” “append to queue,” are also included.

The on screen functionality of the iQ TV-GUI allows intuitive icon-based control over source selection including hard drive, internet streaming stations, XM, Sirius, AM/FM, DAB, and Finetune music options. Users can easily browse by cover-art, search for songs or artists, and quickly access radio presets on their HD TV. Users also have access to ReQuest’s Widgets, informative software nuggets such as weather, stock-ticker, and web/security-cam through the iQ TV-GUI. Connecting the iQ to a HD TV is accomplished with VGA or Component (requires Audio Authority Model 9A60) and IR extenders.

iQ Gets Sirius
In a simultaneous move, ReQuest has introduced an important additional music source to the iQ System: Sirius satellite radio. Integrated into the same no-charge update is new functionality that integrates full compatibility with SiriusConnect Home Pro (Model SCH2P and SCH1P2) Sirius satellite tuners. The new software integrates two-way communications allowing these tuners to be completely controlled via the iQ user interface. While tuning, preset-selection and storage are performed on-screen, the iQ TV GUI also displays real-time Sirius metadata including station, currently playing artist and song/selection information. ReQuest expects to integrate this functionality with Sirius home tuners from other manufacturers as they become available.

Additionally, ReQuest’s new v4.6.3 software update enhances the iQ Intelligent Music Server functionality with improved editing performance, particularly on larger systems, and dramatically faster response when adding media through NetSync for iTunes with dual-media inspection.

Software update v4.6.3 will be released the week of July 14th and available through authorized ReQuest dealers and installers.
