Projectiondesign Triumphs With Action! Projector

PROJECTIONDESIGN TRIUMPHS WITH ACTION! PROJECTOR
Model one mk III uses DarkChip3 to rave reviews

Ridgefield, NJ (August 11, 2006) — projectiondesign, a world leader in innovative DLP projection technology, has great success with its Action! model one mk III, one of the first projectors to use the enhanced HD2+ DC3 (DarkChip3) DLP technology from Texas Instruments. Pre-release reviews called the projector “outstanding” and “cool-looking.” One home cinema reviewer summed it up as, “Astounding picture quality; gorgeous design; excellent specification.”

Gary Plavin, president of projectiondesign in North America., says, “The Action! model one mk III uses the DC3 chipset to reach an incredible 4000:1 ratio, with 1280 x 720 resolution. It’s an outstanding use of DarkChip3 technology, and deserves all its great reviews and success.”

The significant advance over previous models actually comes from two new technologies: reduced vias and smaller gaps between the pixels. DC3 greatly enhances contrast, giving the user deeper blacks, better black color point, and greatly improved perceived black.

The Action! model one mk III projector’s analog video inputs feature full 10-bit A/D conversion and processing. Video sources are enhanced using the Faroudja DCDi TM progressive scan engine with the FLI2310 processor. This provides full film and video mode processing, performs 3:2 and 2:2 pull-down, and deploys several image-enhancing filters like noise reduction and motion detection and compensation.

The Action! model one mk III projector, along with the entire line of the company’s home cinema projectors, will be shown at CEDIA EXPO 2006 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, September 14-17, in the projectiondesign booth #461.
