Otter Products LLC. will participate in a “celebration of sport” as sponsors of the 18th annual Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, Calif. April 17 — 20, 2008. The event is one of the largest and most celebrated cycling festivals in North America and includes the world’s biggest outdoor consumer bike tradeshow. Since 1991, the Sea Otter Classic has been cycling’s season opener. The first festival had only 300 participants and today, the event hosts nearly 10,000 professional, amateur, beginner and recreational cyclists and 50,000 spectators. Festival activities will include music and entertainment, clinics and ride zone areas, Sea Otter egg hunt, kid’s carnival, bike rodeo and numerous games. Athletic events will include mountain and road bike races and tours, BMX races, and an adventure challenge.
The Sea Otter Classic benefits the Davis Phinney Foundation, which supports Parkinson’s disease research and wellness, and IMBA California, which organizes advocacy and trail-building efforts statewide and strengthens California mountain bike clubs.
