Ortiva Wireless in Commercial Mobile Video Deployment with GoTV Networks

Following Successful Trial, GoTV Delivers Mobile Video through Ortiva’s Mobile Content Delivery Network

Ortiva Wireless, the pioneer in dynamic delivery of mobile content, today announced that after the successful completion of a commercial trial, GoTV has begun transitioning portions of its mobile video service to the Ortiva Mobile Content Delivery Network (Mobile-CDN™). GoTV, the first and largest made-for-mobile television network, is using Ortiva’s Mobile-CDN to improve the viewing and listening experience for its Emmy Award-winning, on-demand mobile television programming.

“We’re constantly searching for new ways to make mobile entertainment a better experience for the consumer. Through Ortiva’s Mobile Content Delivery Network, we’re seeing a difference,” said Tom Ellsworth, President and COO, GoTV Networks.

Ortiva’s purpose-built-for-mobile content shaping technology improves a user’s viewing experience by adapting video or audio streams, in real time, based on the individual viewer’s changing network conditions. By delivering dynamically shaped content to each subscriber, GoTV is able to enhance their audience’s experience and ensure that its investment in high-quality programming is not lost through the noise and changing conditions of the cellular network. Moreover, Ortiva’s Mobile-CDN eliminates the need for GoTV to deploy any additional equipment, and provides a high degree of management for insertion of additional targeted content.
