Niveus Media Announces Availability of Intel Viiv technology-based Systems

On display at this week’s International CES, the award-winning Niveus Media Center will begin shipping with Intel’s new digital home brand in early 2006.

Las Vegas, 5 January 2006 — Niveus Media, Inc., manufacturer of media entertainment devices for the high-end audio/video market, has announced the availability of its latest line of Niveus Media Centers which utilize Intel’s Viiv technology platform, designed to enhance and help manage the enjoyment of digital entertainment in the home.

Recently recognized by Popular Science as the Best of What’s New for 2005, the passively-cooled Niveus Media Center — Denali Edition will begin shipping with Viiv technology early this year. Already focused on providing users with a high fidelity audio and video experience, the presence of the Viiv platform will help ensure that Niveus customers get the most from their Niveus Media Center when it comes to enjoying movies, music, photos, games & more.

“We’re excited to be one of the companies involved with the launch of the Viiv platform,” said Brian Paper, VP of Marketing, Niveus Media. “Viiv will help ensure that our customers have a top-notch experience when it comes to enjoying their digital content in the home.”

“Niveus Media’s innovative approach to develop silent, A/V form-factor systems designed for the home theater fits very well with Intel’s digital home strategy built around our Intel Viiv technology platform,” said Gerald Holzhammer, Vice President of the Digital Home Group at Intel. “Intel looks forward to working with Niveus on providing customers a compelling home entertainment experience.”

Intel Viiv technology is comprised of a suite of Intel technologies that deliver the performance for high definition entertainment with powerful Intel dual core processors and support for up to 7.1 surround sound, connectivity for the latest online content, and CE-like features for a simplified entertainment experience with easier navigation of online services and the capability to instantly turn the PC on and off (after initial boot, when activated).

The 2006 International Consumer Electronic Show is being held in Las Vegas from Janaury 5 — 8. Niveus Media will be demonstrating the Viiv technology-based Niveus Media Center at the Sands Expo & Convention Center, Innovations Plus, Booth IP 242. More information available at: www.cesweb.org.
