WOODLAND HILLS, CA — Aside from delivering convenient, plug and play methods to access multiple sources from one high definition television, Gefen’s two new scalers also support a variety of high quality video interfaces, each output in multiple, high definition resolutions up to 1080p.
This enables different video sources to be viewed in high definition on any digital display equipped to support HDMI (high bandwidth digital multimedia interface) connectors. Separate audio inputs and outputs ensure users have an impressive selection of auditory options to enhance the high definition viewing experience.
Both the Home Theater Scaler and the Home Theater Scaler Plus work with consumer electronics devices including digital video displays and projectors, satellite television systems, DVD players and gaming systems.
The Gefen Home Theater Scaler comes equipped with two HDMI inputs each with digital audio (optical TOSlink and coax S/PDIF), two component video inputs each with analog (RCA stereo) audio, and one HDMI output with separate digital and analog audio out.
The HDMI with audio inputs allow DVI sources and digital audio devices to connect to the system, if desired.
Audio from each source is output in multiple formats: embedded in the HDMI format and channeled separately to the digital and/or analog audio outs. Video is output in scalable HD resolutions that are fully HDCP compliant.
Video adaptive de-interlacers, high performance frame rate converters, and advanced color engine technologies ensure vivid and dynamic images are delivered with crystal clear clarity. Digital audio delays ensure perfectly synched audio and video.
The Home Theater Scaler Plus works just like the Home Theater Scaler but supports a slightly different set of inputs: one component input with analog audio, one composite or s-video input with analog audio, and two HDMI inputs with digital audio.
Like the Home Theater Scaler, the Plus model guides users easily through their selections and preferences using on-screen menus controlled by IR remote. When all four inputs are connected, users easily switch between sources for a conveniently integrated system.
