New Magellan RoadMate 760 Portable Vehicle Navigation Introduces Industry-First Audible Street Names and Traffic Detour Plus Optimized Multi-Destination Routing; Magellan RoadMate 760 Builds on Market-Leading Magellan RoadMate 700 with Key New Functions

SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 20, 2005 — Thales’ (Tal – ess) navigation business, global provider of Magellan GPS products and the creators of Hertz NeverLost, introduced today the new Magellan RoadMate™ 760, an even easier to use portable vehicle navigation system boasting SayWhere™, an industry-first text-to-speech option that announces street names for upcoming maneuvers.

Based on the market-leading, award-winning Magellan RoadMate 700, the color, touch-screen Magellan RoadMate 760 delivers convenient navigation capabilities that allow drivers to find destinations quickly, detour around traffic, route to multiple destinations and more.

“Since we pioneered the portable car navigation market — including our creation of the Hertz NeverLost system, the Magellan brand has become synonymous with ease of use, convenience and reliability in car navigation,” said Christian Bubenheim, vice president and general manager of Thales’ consumer business. “The Magellan RoadMate 760 is yet another example of our technology innovation that directly benefits the customer by putting them more in control on the road. It provides the ease of use and compelling functionality that mobile professionals, travelers and busy families demand.”

SmartDetour Helps You Get out of Jams
The Magellan RoadMate 760 provides a SmartDetour™ feature, which automatically offers routing options in traffic jams and construction delays, giving drivers the control to navigate around traffic and reach their destination sooner.

Optimized Multi-Destination Routing Makes Busy Driving Days A Breeze
Traveling to numerous destinations is also easier with Multi-Destination Routing and Route Optimization features. Drivers can enter as many as 20 destinations when using Multi-Destination Routing, and the Magellan RoadMate 760 will automatically sort the multiple destinations by shortest distance to find the best route between addresses. Drivers can create and save up to 20 multiple destination routes with as many as 20 destinations each for future use, making it the perfect navigation tool for house hunting, sales visits, or driving tours to wineries or other attractions.

Easy Address Entry and Nearly 7 Million POIs
The Magellan RoadMate 760 makes finding destinations effortless with an array of easy routing options, a directory of nearly seven million business addresses, and the ability to save an address with the touch of a button. Address entry is fast and convenient with the optimized QuickSpell predictive keypad or the large, color touch screen.

Drivers can choose their destination by street address, intersection, touching a point on the map screen or by selecting from the searchable database of millions of points of interest (POI), such as banks, hotels, shops, ATMs, nightclubs, gas stations, tourist attractions and restaurants. Users can also choose to see icons for selected POIs displayed on the map screen and can route to a POI by touching the POI icon.

In addition, a Home button located on the main menu screen provides instant routing to the driver’s frequent destination of choice. Drivers can choose routes based on the shortest time, the most or least use of freeways, or to avoid toll roads, and can exclude route segments they want to avoid. Best of all, the system automatically recalculates a route if the driver misses a turn.

Other new or enhanced features of the Magellan RoadMate 760 include the following:

— An automatic night mode option adjusts the map display for optimal viewing and brightness based on the time of day.

— An enhanced Locate screen provides a speedometer, altitude, compass information and the street number range for the block where the vehicle is located so drivers have the peace of mind of knowing exactly where they are for added safety in case of emergencies.

— Drivers can view their destination on the map screen to gain perspective before routing.

— A choice of 12 languages all with male or female voices.

— Automatic volume adjustment increases the volume when the vehicle speed exceeds 45 mph.

— Password Protection allows each user to set a unique password.

— A new windshield mount with a large suction cup and swivel head ensures a strong grip while providing adjustable positioning.

— New optional Advanced Cradle facilitates easier external antenna installation for vehicles like RVs and 18-wheelers, and also facilitates easier permanent installation with the optional hard wire kit.

The Magellan RoadMate 760 provides the convenience of the latest, most up-to-date NAVTEQ maps preloaded on a 20GB hard drive for out-of-the-box street navigation in the continental United States, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Canada, plus the option to unlock maps for 25 European countries stored on the hard drive. Priced at US $1,099, this color, touch screen, voice- and text-guided, turn-by-turn routing solution is a must-have for business and leisure travelers alike, whether driving across town, out-of town or traveling out of the country.

As with the entire Magellan RoadMate family, the portable Magellan RoadMate 760 can be used in any vehicle and requires no professional installation.
