NetStreams PowerLinX Intelligent Power Supply Offers Unparalleled Protection for the DigiLinX IP-Based Audio Distribution System

Austin, TX — September 10, 2004 — NetStreams, the leader in IP-based Networked Audio/Video distribution, introduces the PowerLinX family of intelligent power supplies as part of the groundbreaking DigiLinX IP-based networked audio system. These tightly regulated power supplies are essential components in the system as installation scalability is required.

DigiLinX marks a fundamental change in the way audio is distributed and controlled in a multi-room system. PowerLinX is a family of tightly regulated power supplies essential for the DigiLinX system. PowerLinX is not only efficient; it also features 8 discrete output channels of power for DigiLinX devices, via a 4-terminal, removable Quick Connector on the back. Advanced Thermal Protection intelligently protects from current overdraw, and dual-color status LEDs easily provide status information for easy monitoring of each output of power.

“Our engineers have measured every aspect of our DigiLinX IP-based digital networking system to ensure its quality and reliability, and developed PowerLinX” said Herman Cardenas, founder and chief executive officer of NetStreams. “The NetStreams DigiLinX System, which incorporates the PowerLinX power supplies, offers a ‘future-proof’ distributed audio package with increased functionality and flexibility, not to mention its ease of installation and programming.”

Each PowerLinX module is designed to support a finite number of DigiLinX products. Calculating the number of PowerLinX devices needed for a DigiLinX installation is extremely easy using the NetStreams Power Calculator software downloadable from the NetStreams’ website at www.netstreams.com.

Due to its versatile design, installation options are limitless. The PowerLinX power supplies can be easily stored in a closet, behind equipment, or rack-mounted. An optional (sold separately) PowerLinX Rack Shelf allows up to three (3) PowerLinX modules* to be rack mounted side by side, providing power to up to 24 rooms of DigiLinX products.

*Requires ISA circuit for 3 PowerLinX power supplies.

PowerLinX central power supplies are available in 120 and 240 VAC rack-mount versions, PL-600-120 and PL-600-240 respectively. Also available is the PowerLinX PL228, a separate Plug-In local power supply, which is designed to power TouchLinX and/or SpeakerLinX SL220 in a local area.

NetStreams’ DigiLinX family of IP-based products offers very high quality and high performance audio distribution and control with capabilities never seen before, and a rich user experience only available in high cost systems today. This innovative product line, using NetStreams’ patent pending technology, is the first IP-based multi-room audio system in the custom market; ‘IP-based’ meaning a system that is not only controlled over IP, but also distributes its audio and video over packet-switched streams. DigiLinX delivers on the promise of convergence, effectively marrying networking technologies with hi-fidelity audio and later video, marking the introduction of ‘Networked Digital Entertainment’.
