NetStreams Musica 4602 Audio Distribution System Honored with 2004 Custom Retailer Excite Award

Austin, TX — September 29, 2004 — NetStreams, the leader in IP-based Networked Audio/Video Distribution, proudly announces that its Musica 4602 Audio Distribution System has been honored with Customer Retailer’s Excite Award for 2004. This latest award is the second trip to the winner’s circle this year for the Musica 4602 System. Back in August of 2004, the system was also named Electronic House Product of the Year.

“It’s such a great honor to be recognized by your peers,” said Herman Cardenas, founder and chief executive officer of NetStreams. “We designed Musica in response to feedback from multi-room audio system installers. We built upon the best existing concepts in music distribution and improved them with our own exclusive features, and the results have made many custom installers happy. Musica 4602’s powerful and detailed sound, scalability, and ease-of-use make it the perfect choice for music lovers in any home.”

The Musica 4602 System is an easy-to-install and easy-to-operate audio distribution system capable of playing up to four different sources independently and distributing them to as many as six rooms (expandable to 18). In addition, the system distributes up to 6 separate local sources (XM, CD player, cassette tape player, tuner, auxiliary input, etc.) to all six rooms. Users can listen to different sources at the same time in each room. Compensating gain adjustments at the inputs ensure that all sources are distributed at equal levels.

Each room is controlled from a simple yet elegant keypad that sports a mini-widescreen LCD graphic display that clearly depicts the status of the system. The LCD provides the means to monitor the sources as they apply to each room and if so desired to the other rooms in the system as well. An IR remote may also be used to control the system.

One of the distinguishing differences about the Musica 4602 System design is that the amplifiers for each room are located within that room as an integral part of the wall mounted keypad. Most other systems have the amplification for all the rooms located in one place near the source equipment. This generates unwanted heat near delicate source components and requires extremely long wire runs between the amplifiers and the speakers that can substantially degrade audio quality. In addition, the Musica 4602 System offers a new MU4602KP50-FM – the industry’s first ever in-wall keypad with an integrated FM Tuner (patent pending).
