Monoprice Announces Monolith THX LCR & Satellite Speakers

Monoprice continues to expand its Monolith THX Certified speaker line-up with LCR and Satellite speakers.

Monoprice Monolith M-OW3

In recent months, Monoprice has greatly expanded its Monolith speaker lineup with three batches of THX Certified subwoofers (1) (2) (3) and the Encore Speaker line

You would think that may be enough, but, nope, the flood of new speakers continues as Monoprice has taken the lid off two wall-mountable THX-certified speakers and a set of wall-mountable compact THX-certified satellite speakers.

This means that no matter what type of speaker setup you desire for your home theater, Monoprice may have just the right solution for you.

What All The Speakers Have In Common

THX Certification: This speaker line has been submitted and passed THX standards for application and performance. The speakers in this group meet the THX Select Certification Category (Suitable for rooms up to 2,000 cubic feet in size).

THX Certification Process

Cabinet Construction: All the speakers are constructed with Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF).

Cabinet Design and Finish: The speaker has sleek rounded-edge enclosures with a Black matte finish.

Impedance: All the speakers have a 4-ohm impedance. Make sure your amplifier or receiver is compatible with running 4-ohm speakers over a long period of time and at variable volume levels.

Connections: Each speaker has a set of 5‑way binding posts (3 sets for the M-OW3).

Wall-mounting: All speakers can be wall-mounted. A keyhole slot(s)  is incorporated into each speaker.

Let’s take a closer look at what each speaker offers in addition to the above features.

Monolith M-OW3

With the width and overall look of a sound bar, the M-OW3 combines front left, center, and right channel speakers into a single LCR enclosure that can be wall-mounted. The LCR  design eliminates the need for separate left, center, and right channel speakers. This means saving space and less speaker clutter.

Tip: Although the M-OW3 looks like a soundbar, it can’t be connected directly to your TV as it doesn’t have any built-in amplification or HDMI, Digital Optical, or analog audio connections. You must connect the M-OW3 to an amplifier or home theater receiver via standard speaker connections in order to use it. Since the M-OW3 is an LCR speaker it has 3 sets of speaker connections.
