Marantz’s CINEMA 30 Reference AVR Supports Auro 3D and DTS:X Pro

The new Marantz CINEMA 30 is the top-of-the-line 11.4-channel A/V receiver in 2024 priced at $4500.

Marantz Cinema 30 AVR Black Front Angle

One of the things that has made Marantz stand out with its AVRs has been its distinctive front panel designs. For 2024, Marantz continues its minimal front panel looking with a porthole style status display, which is definitely an eye-catcher. If you were impressed with the Marantz Model 40n, the new CINEMA series is going to make you remove the doors of your media cabinet.

The new Marantz CINEMA 30 is a 11.4-channel A/V Receiver, which represents the flagship model in the range for $4500 USD. It offers more power, expanded support for Auro 3D and DTS:X Pro, than the new step-down model CINEMA 40.

Build Quality

Available in Black or Silver Gold finishes, CINEMA 30 incorporates the latest generation of Marantz’s iconic porthole display combined with new industrial design language and is built to the highest standards, with a multi-layer chassis incorporating extensive use of copper.

Its elegant fascia features selectable side illumination and a fold down front panel conceals all less frequently  functions when not in use, creating a clean aesthetic not typically associated with AVRs.

Even the aluminum remote control has been carefully considered and features backlighting to ensure an effortless user experience in darkened rooms.

Clean Power

At its core, CINEMA 30 is built around a symmetrical, monolithic amplifier – the most advanced amplifier layout available in the AVR category.

Amplifier channel is mounted on a separate PCB exactly opposite the power supplies, delivering  remarkably clean and instantaneous low-distortion power.

Eleven channels of onboard amplification ensure sufficient output to support a wide range of potential speaker configurations for all forms of immersive audio.

The 13.4-channel onboard processing with selectable pre-amp mode allows for the addition of an external power amplifier to suit the very largest of dedicated home  theater environments.

Of course, all aspects of the power amplification, power supply and signal path have been carefully honed by the Marantz Sound Master, based in Shirakawa, Japan, to ensure the best possible  sound quality with all source components and in all audio modes.

All digital and analog signals pass through the Marantz HDAM SA-2 pre-amplifier stage to ensure the characteristic warmth and musicality expected from any Marantz audio product.

The Silver/Gold finish is my favorite and I have long desired a Marantz CD60 in that color. The Cinema 30 is gorgeous and if my spousal unit were not such a cultural Philistine when it comes to film, I would so enjoy having this in the “family room” of our home.

For Christmas I gave her a new OLED TV and very nice Definitive Technology Studio 3D Mini Soundbar/Subwoofer set up. It has HEOS for music and my wife does seem to enjoy it and that is what matters.

Marantz and Denon are my absolute favorites when it comes to home theater and stereo equipment. That Silver/Gold is just pure class.

Thank you. I am weakening on the CD60…Dammit!

I have the 40 currently and it is absolutely awesome. The only problem is not having balanced inputs or outputs like the Denon. Now that this is getting closer to the flagship Denon in price I think many will just take the Denon.
