LG Electronics Introduces New Interactive Tool to Simplify Home Theater Installation

LG Electronics USA today announced a new service to help consumers easily install various home theater components.

Called Wirewize, the service is designed to simplify the process of connecting multiple consumer electronics, including flat panel HDTVs, DVD players and other home theater components by providing a complete list of optimal cables and visual, step-by-step hook-up instructions for each component. Saving end-users frustration and confusion, Wirewize will allow consumers to begin enjoying their new purchases as soon as possible.

“LG wants to ensure that our customers are able to easily install their electronics into the home,” said Tim Alessi, director of product development, LG Electronics. “Many consumers purchase a variety of different entertainment components from various manufacturers, only to face uncertainty and frustration when attempting to set them up at home. We’re committed to keeping our customers top of mind, so are now providing the resources that will assist in setting up and enjoying our products quickly and easily.”

Consumers can access Wirewize by clicking the “Connection Guide” link on the right-hand side of any product page in the “TV/Audio/Video” section of LGusa.com. Wirewize, a product of CE Interactive, is designed to serve as a cross-brand customer support service, working with all major home theater brands, and also for consumers who want to connect and configure products made by multiple manufacturers.

When a consumer clicks the “Connections Guide” link through the LG Web site, they are automatically taken to the LG-sponsored Wirewize site to set up their electronics in three easy steps. Users first select their products from a list of categories (TV, DVD player, etc) by model number. Next, the system provides instructions and images detailing which cables are needed to hook the components together for optimum performance. When the consumer has located the correct cables, the system provides detailed, step-by-step set up instructions, as well as user electronic owner’s manuals for each individual product. If users later change gear or buy additional components, Wirewize will help connect the new product to the existing setup with no connection hassles.

“Today’s consumer electronics products are extremely sophisticated and as a result, the installation process is sometimes more cumbersome than people would like,” said Dean Summers, president and CEO of CE Interactive. “We are pleased to be working with a market leader like LG Electronics to offer consumers the kind of simplified assistance they need in order to easily integrate and enjoy their newly purchased electronics.”
