KEF KHT2005.3 Home Theatre System Announced

Eminent British Speaker Manufacturer’s KHT2005.3 5.1 System, Featuring the All-New KUBE-2 Subwoofer, Incorporates Uni-Q Driver Technology and Advanced Design

KEF, renowned British manufacturer of superb audio and home theatre speakers, has announced the introduction of the third generation of the highly acclaimed Home Theatre 2000 Series — the KHT2005.3 Series home theatre speaker system, incorporating the exciting new KUBE-2 Subwoofer.

Building on the success of the KHT2000 Series, the KHT2005.3 Series delivers KEF’s signature stellar performance in a complete 5.1 system. The KHT2005.3 Series features KEF’s iconic “egg-shaped” surround speakers, including four satellites and a center-channel, with improved multi-directional desktop mounts for better stability and user-preference positioning, complemented by the powerful yet space-saving KUBE-2 subwoofer.

“Improving on the standard set by the success of our KHT2000 Series was quite a challenge, but we at KEF thrive on challenges”, said Alec Chanin, president of KEF America. “The KHT2005.3 — from its astonishing new KUBE-2 Subwoofer to the refined stand mounts − are a clear demonstration of KEF’s dedication to continuous product improvement.”

The KHT2005.3 Series utilizes KEF’s 100mm (4″) Uni-Q drivers with advanced aerospace material. KEF’s patented Uni-Q driver achieves what audio engineers have sought for decades: to project an exceptionally broad frequency range from a single point. Uni-Q technology disperses sound uniformly over a wide area allowing listeners to enjoy KEF’s fantastic reproduction from anywhere in a room. KEF places its tweeter in the acoustic and mechanical center of the midrange cone, resulting in a near-perfect, single-point-source driver. This configuration ensures that both drivers are in precise focus, providing the widest achievable dispersion over the entire frequency spectrum without the “lobing” effect inherent in conventional multi-driver arrays. All listeners throughout the room can enjoy optimal sound quality, including those outside of the typical “sweet spot.” Simply stated, the entire room is the “sweet spot.”

KEF’s sleek and compact KUBE-2 Subwoofer, which may also be purchased separately, completes the KHT2005.3 5.1 home theatre experience with its beautifully designed aesthetic appeal and uncompromised high-powered performance. It’s unique cube-shape construction and modest 13.1″ x 12.7″ x 13.1″ dimensions allow users to tuck it discretely in corners, while the full-bodied, deep, defined bass produced by its 200W class D amplifier, 10″ driver and 10″ Auxiliary Bass Radiator (ABR) belie its diminutive size.

The KHT2005.3 Series, available in high gloss black or matt silver, comes complete with four satellites, one center channel speaker and the KUBE-2 Subwoofer, and carries an MSRP of $1,299.99.
