KEF America Announces the Hire of Industry Sales Expert

Richard Colburn Appointed Reference Business Development Manager

MARLBORO, NJ — April 12, 2006 — KEF America is pleased to announce the appointment of 30-year industry veteran Richard Colburn to the position of Reference Business Development Manager. Colburn joins the KEF America team to manage the sales of the company’s flagship line of loudspeakers–the Reference Series. In this newly created position, Mr. Colburn will lead KEF’s North American sales efforts to promote its Reference Series products.

“We are excited about the experience that Richard brings to the KEF sales team,” stated Alec Chanin, president of KEF America. “We are confident that under Richard’s direction the reputation of our legendary Reference Series will continue to be enhanced as will the sales of this flagship line.”

KEF’s Reference Series possesses a unique adaptability that provides for the most accurate sound reproduction available. Radical Uni-Q point source arrays, with elliptical dome tweeters and titanium dome hypertweeters are just some of the features that set the product apart from the rest.

“I’m glad to join a brand with such a celebrated heritage,” stated Colburn. “I look forward to applying my experience in building the sales of the high-end Reference line and focus on promoting the lifestyles and performance benefits this product delivers to even the most discriminating audiophiles.”

Mr. Colburn is one of the four original founders of Mirage Speaker Company. Prior to joining KEF America, he served as VP of Sales & Marketing of PMC USA, a UK based professional monitor and audiophile speaker manufacturer. Richard also worked as National Sales Manager for Bryston/PMC. His distinguished career in the sales of audio products includes leadership positions at Audio Products International, AudioQuest, and Nakamichi, where he helped guide his teams to remarkable growth levels.

Richard is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate with a B.S. from the University of Maine. A true audiophile at heart, Colburn got his start working in an audio retail operation in the Boston area in the early seventies. Richard enjoys reading science fiction, playing bass guitar, collecting vintage watches and driving high performance automobiles.
