Jamo R 909 Scores EISA 2006-2007 Award

Jamo r909 Loudspeakers

Jamo is pleased to announce that its flagship R 909 loudspeaker has been named European High-End Loudspeaker Of The Year 2006-2007 by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA).

The R 909 loudspeaker has been receiving rave reviews across Europe for its innovative dipole design — equipped with twin 15-inch bass drivers -eliminating the need for a traditional box enclosure.

The EISA judgment reads as follows:

“With the sculptural R 909 speaker, Jamo’s development engineers have demonstrated what they are capable of delivering, when cost is no object, and only the best components and materials are good enough. The R 909 is among very few speakers that work without a box enclosure, which normally makes it difficult to reproduce low frequencies. So, a pair of high-efficiency 15-inch bass drivers and an ingenious crossover is Jamo’s response to this challenge, and since there is no ordinary box-generated resonance, the R 909’s sound is free of cabinet coloration, stunningly unrestrained, crisp and dynamic. This large speaker comes with an exemplary finish and superior attention to detail — an impressive “high-end” statement, which deserves the best amplifier that a demanding music lover can afford.”

“The R 909 marks a real watershed for Jamo,” says Steen Michaelsen, senior manager of Jamo product marketing, “It’s a return for the company to its rightful place as being one of the foremost European innovators in loudspeaker technologies. The forthcoming C 60 and C 80 range will further cement that reputation and demonstrate how far the company has come since its acquisition by Klipsch Group, Inc. last spring.”
