IMuse Media Server Series Introduces AVALANCHE/2 Mass Storage Device

(Colorado Springs CO)–iMuse Electronics, Inc. announced today that it will immediately replace the iMuse AVALANCHE mass storage device with a new and significantly upgraded package. Designated as the iMuse AVALANCHE/2 the new drive device continues its predecessor’s commitment to maintaining data integrity and offering affordable, expandable storage.

Along with improvements such as a fourth hot-swappable drive bay, the iMuse AVALANCHE/2 offers many improvements that enhance the iMuse Media Server Series’ industry-leading featureset.

Fourth Drive Bay Provide Default Backup

The addition of a fourth hot-swappable drive in the iMuse AVALANCHE/2 gives custom installers, integrators, and end-users even more storage and data integrity options. By default, the fourth drive bay houses a hot standby drive. If ever one of the three main drives fail, the hot standby drive immediately begins rebuilding the corrupted drive, limiting downtime for end-users and reducing drive replacement hassles for installers and integrators.

The additional drive can also accommodate a fourth storage drive, bringing the total system storage for a single iMuse AVALANCHE/2 to 1.6 TB. As always, several units can be connected together to provide a storage solution that grows with the end-users’ media libraries.

In the event that there is a drive or system failure, the iMuse AVALANCHE/2 can deliver a notification to a predetermined email address or phone number. The page can often be responded to before the customer even realizes there is an outage, increasing overall satisfaction.

Customizable RAID Configurations

The new iMuse AVALANCHE/2 provides installers and integrators with several RAID configuration options to best suit the needs of the end-user. Although RAID level 5 is recommended, RAID levels 0, 1, and 5 will be supported by the iMuse AVALANCHE/2 hardware.

Additional Features at No Additional Cost

Despite the improvements the iMuse AVALANCHE/2 offers over the original iMuse AVALANCHE, there will be no increase in price for same-storage size models. Now the iMuse Media Server Series increases its lead over the competition by delivering higher value to the end-user.
