Home Lighting Control Alliance Launches SMART LIGHTS

Premiere issue introduces subscribers to new ideas, tips, suppliers and products

Warrenton, VA — May 5, 2008 — The Home Lighting Control Alliance (HLCA), an organization dedicated to educating the public about home lighting control, has launched SMART LIGHTS, an email newsletter.

Distributed up to six times per year, SMART LIGHTS is available free to consumers, homebuilders, system integrators, electrical contractors, architects, retailers and other parties interested in learning about residential lighting controls.

Each issue of SMART LIGHTS contains new ideas, best practices, trends, codes, legislation as well as new product introductions from HLCA members, leading players in residential lighting control.

“According to the Sixth Annual State of the Builder Technology Market study, frequency of installation of automated lighting controls has grown 500 percent since 2002, making it the second-fastest-growing home technology after energy management systems,” says Gary Meshberg of Lightolier Controls, chair of HLCA. “As the market grows and the technology becomes more robust, education is essential to ensuring quality design and application of home lighting controls. SMART LIGHTS is just one many initiatives HLCA is launching this year to help keep the market informed, as an informed market is a healthy market.”
