Devialet Tunes Hisense HT SATURN: Say Au Revoir to Crappy TV Sound

Hisense gets serious about spatial audio with HT SATURN home theater speaker system tuned by Devialet for only $1,299.

Hisense has been climbing the ladder fast when it comes to TVs and Laser TVs (UST projectors), carving out a serious piece of the market with aggressive pricing and surprisingly solid performance. But when it comes to soundbars? Let’s just say the audio side of the house hasn’t exactly kept pace—more filler than thriller, and definitely nothing to rattle the cages of Sonos, Samsung, or the audiophile crowd.

Enter the HT SATURN. This time, Hisense decided to take a different route—by calling in the French. Devialet, to be precise. Now, Devialet isn’t a name your average Costco shopper will recognize, but anyone who’s ever dropped $3K on a wireless speaker or had their ribcage rearranged by a Phantom knows the brand. Hisense teaming up with Devialet is like inviting a Michelin chef to work the deep fryer: it raises eyebrows, and maybe—just maybe—the game.

HT SATURN: A Wireless Audio Ecosystem, Not Just Another Soundbar

The HT SATURN, Tuned by Devialet, breaks away from the usual “long black bar under your TV” mold. Instead, Hisense has gone modular—this is a full 4.1.2-channel wireless system built around a compact central hub. That hub acts as the command center: handling HDMI and digital inputs, decoding audio formats, managing source switching, and wirelessly distributing signal to the four satellite speakers and subwoofer.

It’s not just about ditching cables. The system architecture gives each speaker more room to breathe—literally and acoustically—allowing for better placement, separation, and room-filling immersion. The wireless protocol is low-latency and high-bandwidth, so you get synchronized, high-fidelity audio without the spaghetti mess of wires or the latency problems that plague most “wireless” setups.

Tuned by Devialet: Oui, It’s Actually Fancy

Hisense didn’t just slap a logo on this thing—they brought in the sonic surgeons from Paris. Devialet, the French high-end audio brand known for their obsessive R&D into exotic drivers and ultra-low distortion amplification, tuned the HT SATURN to do more than just sound loud. Their fingerprints are all over the system’s digital signal processing, driver voicing, and wireless playback performance.

This is not some watered-down “tuned by” sticker. Devialet’s expertise in hi-res wireless transmission and proprietary audio tech—usually reserved for speakers that cost more than your TV—helps the HT SATURN achieve clarity, scale, and finesse that would surprise anyone expecting typical soundbar-in-a-box fare.

Hi-Concerto

In addition to Devialet’s tuning, the HT SATURN system includes Hisense’s Hi-Concerto technology. This allows it to work in tandem with the built-in speakers on select Hisense TVs, enabling all the speakers to operate together for a more cohesive and immersive sound experience. It’s a concept similar to Samsung’s Q-Symphony, offering users a more integrated audio setup without needing to disable their TV’s own speakers.

Room Fit

For installation and setup, the HT SATURN includes Hisense Room Fit, a basic room correction feature. It analyzes the room’s size and acoustics, then applies adjustments to reduce common issues like echoes and reflections. While not as advanced as some premium systems, it helps deliver cleaner and more balanced sound in most environments.

Advanced 3-Way Speaker Array for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X Immersion

The HT SATURN features a 13-speaker setup arranged in a 4.1.2 channel layout to support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X formats. Each satellite speaker uses a 3-way design with a front-firing woofer, a midrange driver angled slightly upward, and a tweeter angled even more upward. This arrangement helps direct sound both forward and upward, enabling more precise spatial effects and a more immersive audio environment.

Wireless Audio Transmission with Multi-Band Wi-Fi Stability

The HT SATURN transmits audio wirelessly from the central unit to the satellite speakers and subwoofer using Wi-Fi. To maintain a stable connection, it operates across three frequency bands: 2.4, 5.2, and 5.8 GHz.

Tip: While the audio signal is wireless, each speaker and subwoofer still requires connection to an AC power outlet to run their built-in amplifiers.

The Bottom Line

Hisense’s collaboration with Devialet signals a clear ambition to raise their audio profile and compete seriously in the higher-end sound system arena. While Hisense’s previous soundbar efforts mostly flew under the radar, the HT SATURN is a different animal—eschewing the traditional soundbar design for a more versatile setup with four wireless speakers and a central control unit. This approach clearly takes a page from Sony’s Bravia Theater QUAD system, but at nearly half the price. Although not as elegant as Sony, the price gap alone makes Hisense’s new offering impossible to ignore. If you’re in the market for better TV sound and a wireless multi-speaker setup, auditioning the HT SATURN would seem a smart move. Thanks to Devialet’s tuning and cutting-edge tech, Hisense might just carve out a spot on your shortlist.
