HAI’S OMNITOUCH 5.7 TOUCHSCREEN WINS 2008 INNOVATIONS AWARD

New Orleans, LA – Home Automation, Inc. (HAI), a leading manufacturer of integrated security and home automation products since 1985, has announced its newest Touchscreen, the OmniTouch 5.7 has been selected as an Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering Award honoree in the Integrated Home Systems product category by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).

The CEA-sponsored Innovations Awards program has been in existence since 1989. An independent panel of preeminent industrial designers, engineers and members of the press select the winners. Additionally, the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) endorses and acts as advisors to the Innovations awards. The judges determine the winning products based on user value, unique and novel features, contribution to the quality of life, and the aesthetic and design qualities of the product.

The OmniTouch 5.7 is a colorful “plug and play” Touchscreen interface for HAI’s award-winning Omni and Lumina home control systems. It allows control of lights and small appliances, security and temperature settings, pool and spa temperatures, ventilation, decorative lighting, Whole Home Audio Systems, surveillance video, and other items linked to an HAI Home Control system. It features a 5.7 inch LCD display using TFT technology for rich colors and enhanced viewing angles, displays video full screen (Touchscreen Hub and Encoder necessary for video), has a built-in speaker, and built-in USB drive connector to allow easy firmware updates.

The OmniTouch 5.7 (HAI part number 53A00-1) is compatible with all HAI controllers, including the Omni LT, Omni IIe, OmniPro II, Lumina and Lumina Pro. It comes in White, with color change kits available in Almond, Light Almond, Black, Ivory, and Silver.

HAI will be demonstrating the award-winning OmniTouch 5.7 in Booth 26421, South Hall at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada, January 7 — 10, 2008 and at the Showstoppers Press reception to be held Jan. 7, 6-10pm at the Wynn Hotel.

The OmniTouch 5.7 is currently shipping and available through HAI’s worldwide Distribution network. For more information, please visit www.homeauto.com.
