The Gateway MC-Series notebook line makes its debut today, offering top-of-the-line entertainment, multimedia and cinematic-quality visual display capabilities to consumers who want the most enjoyment from a notebook PC.
The notebook line features a 16-inch edge-to-edge seamless glass widescreen display that gives the notebook a clean, contemporary look. The vibrant display delivers a cinematic-quality viewing experience due to its 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio and 1366×768 resolution. The MC-Series also features Illuminated Multimedia Touch Controls, which are conveniently placed on the keyboard surround, making it quick and easy to navigate through their digital media and frequently-used entertainment programs.
The high-end model of the line, the Gateway MC7803u, includes ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 graphics with 512MB dedicated memory combined with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor for a first-rate experience viewing of games, graphics and video. Other new models in the line feature processing technology from Intel.
The premium design of the new MC-Series is as impressive as its capabilities. Available in two colors, burgundy and black, the new notebook line features a streamlined design that blends materials and edges for a cohesive look and feel. Customers will first notice the cover’s distinctive synthetic leather branding stripe flanked by silver accents and Gateway logo embossed in zinc alloy metal. Upon opening the notebook, the dramatic edge-to-edge glass display and seamless transitions between materials and design elements provide a luxurious aesthetic. The elegant burgundy model has a deep, rich finish, a brushed metal palm rest and a black polished keyboard surround. The black model is polished to a deep, jet black shine and has a synthetic leather palm rest and black polished keyboard surround.
The Gateway MC-Series is ready for entertainment at any time and in a range of lighting conditions. The ambient light sensor adjusts the brightness according to the external light, so customers always have an excellent viewing experience. Plus, the LED Illuminated Keyboard is backlit, so consumers will never have to work in the dark.

The notebook’s HDMI v1.3 media connection lets consumers connect their MC-Series notebook to an external display device to enjoy high-definition video and audio through a single connection. Also, the 5-in-1 digital media manager, four USB 2.0 ports and other connections make the MC-Series ready to connect to popular media cards, consumer electronics and peripherals.
Additional popular technologies allow customers to be productive and stay connected. The integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam blends well with the notebook’s overall design, and lets consumers take and send video emails, voice over IP, and digital still photos as well as enjoy live videoconferencing. Consumers can connect via 802.11 a/g/Draft-N with expanded wireless features to communicate more effectively on the go, while Gigabit Ethernet makes the notebook prepared for a fast LAN connection.

Ready to take on the latest entertainment applications, the Gateway MC7801u comes with leading-edge technology including an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5800 (2.0Gz) with Intel Centrino Processor Technology, 4GB of DDR2 667MHz memory and Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD. In addition, it’s ready for storing and sharing large digital media files with a huge 320GB1 hard drive and a Multi-Format Dual Layer DVDRW with DVD-RAM and LabelFlash Technology 2. It comes in burgundy and has a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $949.99.
The new Gateway MC7803u adds to the robust configuration of the MC7801u but features ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 graphics with 512MB dedicated memory for an enhanced gaming and video experience. It’s available in black at an MSRP of $999.99.
New MC-Series models will be available this month at leading electronics retailers.
Both of these models come with the powerful Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit Edition with SP1. They also come loaded with Microsoft Works 9.0 as well as a 60-day trial of Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007.
