ELAN Home Systems Unveils Three New VIA! Touch Panels At CEDIA 2007

DENVER, CO — CEDIA Booth #610 — ELAN Home Systems announced today the trade debut of three new models in its revolutionary, tried-and-true VIA! line of Touch Panel Control Systems, the VIA!4.0-EM, VIA!7.0-EM and VIA!10.0-EM, at CEDIA 2007 in Denver, Colorado. The announcement was made by Bob Farinelli, ELAN’s President and Chief Technology Officer.

ELAN’s VIA! Touch Panels have been the value leaders in their class since their initial roll-out in 2000. The first stand-alone touch panel with live video monitoring capabilities, VIA! set, and continues to set, a new bench-mark for affordable, full-featured, whole-house control of entertainment, lighting and security.

The new VIA! lineup includes two new sizes, 7″ and 10″, with widescreen landscape formats that combine elegance with the traditional VIA! strengths of ultra-fast response, reliable execution, awesome live video and ease of programming. The VIA!10.0-EM’s large, wide-screen viewing area also makes it an ideal in-wall TV monitor that suits locations where clients desire control married with a TV. The new VIA!4.0-EM takes the success of the current VIA!4″ panel and matches the low profile, decor-matching frame to the other new models in the line.

“With the addition of the new VIA! models, improved price points across the entire line, and their Ole Film Interactive Touchpad counterparts, ELAN has the most unique and consistently reliable line of user interfaces in the business,” said Mr. Farinelli. “These latest VIA! models provide customers with additional options for smart and user-friendly touch control and there is literally something for everyone and every room. As with most VIA! panels, these will let customers view live video sources and take full control of whole-house systems with great ease and simplicity.

The new VIA! models offer all the features that made ELAN’s time-tested, award-winning VIA!6.4 one of the best-selling in-wall touch panels on the market today, including one-touch access to your audio and video, lighting, temperature and security systems, real-time video monitoring, customizable layouts, room-matching screen motifs and wall frames, ease of programming, and more. They now also

sport many new features sure to excite both homeowners and custom installers including new, sleek on-wall frames in Standard and European styles that are available in seven different colors. New screen graphics have also recently been added that, when coupled with the matching frames, provide remarkable in-home solutions that can be mixed or precisely matched throughout the house to suit personal tastes and decors.

The introduction of the new VIA! Touch Panels comes on the heels of ELAN’s latest version of VIA!TOOLS programming software. VIA!TOOLS 7.4 includes new pre-written two-way serial drivers for the control of Lutron RadioRA lighting and DSC, Elk, Honeywell and GE security systems. With their larger screen sizes and expanded function page capabilities, the new VIA!7.0-EM and VIA!10.0-EM are particularly well-suited for controlling and displaying real-time status feedback of these systems.

In addition, the units feature newly added ports for local RJ-45, power and IR/Sense located on the back of the unit which not only provide added functionality, but will make the installers’ job easier, saving time and cost for all.

From sophisticated whole-house lighting, temperature and security systems to reliable IR control of your audio/video components, the VIA!4.0-EM, VIA!7.0-EM and VIA!10.0-EM can do it all. Compatible with every ELAN multi-room controller, all VIA! control panels can also be used with most any home system, even ones made by other audio/video manufacturers.

ELAN’s VIA!4.0-EM will begin shipping in November of 2007 at an MSRP of $850.00. The VIA!7.0-EM and VIA!10.0-EM will begin shipping by the end of the year at MSRPS of $1,400.00 and $$1,800.00, respectively.
