Denon just announced its new Home 200 ($399), Home 400 ($599), and Home 600 ($799) wireless speakers and we got an exclusive first look (and listen). With these new offerings, Denon is targeting one of the fastest-growing categories in home audio: compact wireless speaker systems. But these ones have not one but two twists: full compatibility with the HEOS whole home music ecosystem and built-in support for Dolby Atmos Music. At a press event in New York City earlier this month, our editor at large, Chris Boylan got a look (and a listen) and was impressed by what he heard.
In Boylan’s words, “While the Home 200 offered a full sound for its size and price, the larger Home 400 and (even more so) the Home 600 offered a huge immersive soundstage – both tall and wide – from a single tabletop speaker. The bass response on the Home 600 was particularly impressive for a one-piece speaker system. As a fan of Dolby Atmos music, I’m thrilled to see HEOS come on board with support for multi-channel music.”
Driven by the shift toward streaming, desktop listening, gaming setups, and soundbar alternatives for smaller spaces, this category has become critically important for manufacturers like Denon, Sonos, KEF, and Bluesound as consumers move away from traditional component systems. And by offering built-in Dolby Atmos immersive surround sound support, these particular models have limited competition, including the Sonos Era 300 and Apple Home Pods, each of which only works within their respective manufacturer’s proprietary wireless ecosystems.
Building on the original Denon Home 150, 250, and 350 models introduced in 2020, the new lineup brings updated design and technical improvements aimed at keeping Denon competitive in a segment that continues to expand. And they mark the first time any HEOS component has been able to support Dolby Atmos music. The Home 200 does this with height virtualization, while both the Home 400 and Home 600 include up-firing reflective height speakers for true height effects. At launch, the speakers will support Dolby Atmos music tracks in both Amazon Music and TIDAL.
“The latest generation of Denon Home brings effortless whole home sound together with the superior audio performance people expect from us,” said Lyle Smith, President of Sound United at HARMAN. “Each speaker is designed to complement any space while giving listeners seamless, multi room, wireless control powered by our HEOS platform. Whether someone is hosting, relaxing or moving from room to room, these new speakers reveal all the detail in their favorite music with a level of convenience that fits naturally into daily life.”
Who Are They For?
The intended audience for these speakers are music lovers who want a flexible, app driven, multi-room system that can scale from a single speaker to a whole home setup without diving into traditional hi-fi complexity. If you are already in the HEOS ecosystem, this is the upgrade path you have been waiting for. If not, Denon is making a serious case that it belongs on your shortlist. And support for Dolby Atmos music gives these a leg-up on most competitive products.
Wireless Multi Room Streaming, Smart Home Integration and More
The new Denon Home series is built around these three models, each designed to match different listening styles, whether you want sound that stays in the background or something that fills the room with real presence. Here is what they all share:
Easy Setup for Instant Enjoyment: From unboxing to playback, setup takes minutes with intuitive app based control.
System Pairing for Wider Soundstage: Each of the new models supports stereo listening on its own, but can be paired with a second identical speaker for a much wider, more expansive soundstage, particularly for Dolby Atmos music tracks.
Dolby Atmos Support: The new Denon Home Series is engineered to deliver full, detailed sound and becomes the first HEOS-enabled speaker lineup to support Dolby Atmos music. That means both the updated HEOS hardware and software in these models can handle immersive audio playback on any of the new speakers.
Powered by HEOS: Denon’s app controlled wireless multi-room platform gives users access to music streaming services and local digital libraries, with the ability to play high quality audio across one or multiple HEOS enabled devices. It also provides full control over how music is grouped, played, and distributed throughout the home on Denon Home speakers.
Surround Sound and Subwoofer Pairing: The Denon Home Series speakers can function as wireless surrounds for the Denon Home Sound Bar 550 ($699 at Amazon) and can also be paired with a HEOS enabled subwoofer for added low end support.
Onboard Controls: In addition to the HEOS app, physical controls are included for everyday functions such as volume, bass, treble, play and pause, along with voice assistant activation including Siri.
Wireless and Wired Connectivity: All models support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and AirPlay 2 for wireless streaming, along with USB-C and a 3.5 mm analog input for connecting additional sources.
Design and Finish: The 2026 Denon Home Series features a refined look with smooth, curved edges and a choice of Stone or Charcoal finishes that fit easily into modern living spaces.
Denon Connected Ecosystem: Denon’s broader ecosystem allows users to start with a single speaker and expand over time, linking speakers, AVRs, and sound bars into a flexible system that can scale across multiple rooms.
Denon Home 200

The Denon Home 200 is the entry level model in the new series, featuring a compact cylindrical design that delivers room filling sound from an upgraded three driver array with two tweeters and one woofer, powered by three Class D amplifiers. It supports stereo playback with virtual Dolby Atmos processing. The Home 200 measures 5.5 x 5.5 x 8.5 inches and weighs under 5 pounds.
Denon Home 400

The Denon Home 400 steps up from the 200 with a curved rectangular design and a more advanced six driver array that includes two tweeters, two upfiring drivers, and two woofers, powered by six Class D amplifiers. The addition of dedicated upfiring drivers expands the soundstage and adds a greater sense of height and dimensionality to music and Dolby Atmos content. It is designed for listeners who want more immersion and presence from a single speaker. The Home 400 measures 11.8 x 5.9 x 8.6 inches and weighs under 10 pounds.
Denon Home 600

For those looking for a more elevated listening experience beyond the 200 and 400, the Denon Home 600 sits at the top of the lineup.
As the flagship model, it features dual opposing 6.5 inch woofers, along with two tweeters, two midrange drivers, and two upfiring drivers, all powered by eight Class D amplifiers. This configuration allows it to deliver deeper, more authoritative bass from its integrated subwoofer system while also expanding scale and detail across the soundstage. The Home 600 measures 17.7 x 9.88 x 8.9 inches and weighs 17.6 pounds.

The Bottom Line
Denon waited six years to refresh the Home lineup, and the result feels like a meaningful step forward rather than a simple cosmetic update. The Denon Home 200, 400, and 600 lean into what matters in 2026: stronger multi-room integration through HEOS, broader connectivity, and the addition of Dolby Atmos music in a compact wireless form factor that fits how people actually listen today. The 400 and 600, in particular, stand out with dedicated up-firing drivers and more ambitious driver arrays that push this category closer to true room-filling performance without requiring a full separates system. And the ability to pair two speakers together allows owners to create an even more immersive, more expansive soundstage than is possible with a single speaker.
That said, there are still some gaps. There is no dedicated phono input, which feels like a miss at a time when vinyl continues to grow, and pricing has moved up into a more competitive tier where Sonos, KEF, and Bluesound already have strong footholds. However, each Home speaker does include both Micro USB and 3.5mm analog stereo inputs, so they’d be fully compatible with any turntable that includes a built-in phono preamp. Also, Denon’s newly announced DP500-BT turntable can be connected to any of the new Home speakers wirelessly via Bluetooth and then it becomes an audio source that can be played anywhere throughout the home on compatible HEOS components and speakers.
The $64,000 question is does this mean that other Denon and Marantz products such as AVRs, streamers and preamp/processors will soon get Dolby Atmos music support in HEOS as well? If so, this will allow HEOS to leapfrog competitive streaming platforms such as WiiM, Bluesound and Yamaha MusicCast, whose platforms are currently limited to 2-channel music listening only. And while Sonos and Apple do support Dolby Atmos music on select powered speakers, neither of those companies offers home theater-friendly products like AVRs or preamp/processors.
A new Denon or Marantz AVR with Dolby Atmos immersive sound built into its HEOS wireless music platform would truly stand out from the competition allowing customers to listen to expansive, immersive multi-channel music tracks virtually anywhere in the home, all through a simple mobile app. Now that would be a game-changer in streaming music listening. We shall see what the future holds.
