Denon announced its first two-channel Blu-ray mini system, the ultra compact D-X1000BD.

Following the launch of the high-end S-5BD Cara one-box Blu-ray system, the D-X1000BD offers serious audio and video quality with bespoke Denon engineering. Based on Denon's experience of delivering separates quality in one compact body, the system's main unit is equipped with proprietary technologies from the company's renowned stereo and home cinema products. It features a “Simple & Straight” circuit design with minimum signal paths, and an independent block construction with a shielded chassis for best playback quality of all content.

The powerful mini system offers 70W across its two channels and supports a variety of digital media such as Blu-ray Disc (including BD Live), DVD and CD. Moreover, it offers two USB ports with one at the front supporting iPod/iPhone digital direct play and the other, USB memory. Through the optional Denon ASD-51N/51W docking station you can even upgrade the RBD-X1000 with network streaming content. For a very private listening experience, the Blu-ray receiver features Dolby Headphone, a revolutionary signal processing technology that delivers 5.1 channel surround sound over any pair of headphones.

The perfectly matched speakers offer serious hi-fi quality using technology from Denon's renowned high-end CX stereo series. They feature high performance Denon Dual Layer (D.D.L.) cone technology, with a ventilation hole for the perfect acoustic balance.

With this system, listeners can even enjoy breathtaking surround sound with Dolby Virtual Speaker, another signal processing technology that delivers 5.1-channel surround sound from just two speakers. In case there is a need for additional bass, the system may be upgraded to 2.1 channels by attaching a subwoofer to the available pre-out port.

Next to the versatile connectivity and the extraordinary sound quality, the new mini system shines with hardly any set-up requirements and easy operation. You just connect the receiver to the speakers and the show begins. The D-X1000BD detects every media automatically and automatically selects the optimum playback mode, meaning total convenience. The system remote control has clever 'quick select' buttons and a cursor navigation to help easily make adjustments if needed. I have one of these Denon DX 1000 units, it really is a superb piece of equipment. Excellent picture quality, easy on screen display, so powerful i haven’t taken it past half power, amazing speakers, very high quality construction and above all probably the most detailed and rich sound I have ever heard from such a small system. I am incredibly happy with this system and very much recommend it to anyone looking for a compact system with serious hi fi sound!!!

Hi Simon, How does the music sound on this set. Is playing music something it also does or is it really that good? I need a new dvd player and a new stereo set, so why not mix them together… But I want the music to be of good quality. Thanks for your reply.

Martijn this system is stunning, fantastic video, great osd and playing music is a joy. It has incredible top end, rich midrange, amazingly deep and tight bass. It is very powerful and the sound is audiophile quality.
I hear things in music Ive never heard before, it’s quite mind blowing to hear such a small system rock my whole house with the most detailed and real life sound Ive ever heard. The speakers are top quality and can handle the power with ease.
Highly recommended, this system rocks big time and will absolutely blow you away. I think this is the best all in one integrated mini blu ray hifi system money can buy.
