Denon D-M38DAB Micro Audio System

634213.jpg

Denon unveiled its latest all-in-one hi-fi system. The D-M38DAB follows in the footsteps of the multi-award winning D-M37, and brings even more intelligent features, while delivering further improved, UK-tuned sound quality.

One notable addition is the front panel USB port. This enables iPod/iPhone digital direct connectivity and results in dramatically enhanced sound quality from mobile players. Simply connect the player to the D-M38DAB’s port with the iPhone’s bundled USB cable and the Denon extracts a pure digital signal from the Apple mobile. The D-M38DAB passes the signal through its high-precision D/A converter, then processing the music through advanced audio circuitry to produce a clean, high-quality sound.

Your Apple iTunes library is not the only mobile application to benefit from this audio excellence: the D-M38DAB can also replay any application on your iPhone, so the likes of Spotify and Last.fm can also receive the proper ‘hi-fi’ treatment.

For added convenience, when you plug an iPhone into the D-M38DAB’s USB port while listening to a CD, music from the portable player will immediately start to play. The system will even resume the same track last listened to via headphones when you plug in. Naturally, the Apple battery is charged while the D-M38DAB is switched on. In addition to the above Apple-based uses, the USB input allows connection of USB memory sticks and external hard drives.

The D-M38DAB’s compact size allows for easy setup on a bookshelf, in a bedroom or in the home office. With beautiful sound and sleek styling, this is a high-class audio system.

Elsewhere, you’ll find a DAB/DAB+/AM/ FM tuner, along with exceptional CD replay, powered by a 60W amplifier. Denon’s popular M series offers high sound quality based on the ‘simple & straight’ concept. Circuitry is clean and pure, signal paths are short, and all adverse influences on sound quality have been minimised. The circuit design and the way the chassis is built, ensure that the sound heard is faithful to the original performance.

The system’s speakers further enhance performance. In a component system, speakers are a vital factor for the sound quality, so Denon decided to once more use the successful SC- M37 design. Their sound delivers an enormous sense of presence and expression that is hard to imagine from speakers of their compact size. The D.D.L. (Denon Double Layer) cone featuring lightweight and high rigidity has been used for the woofer diaphragm, ensuring accurate pistonic motion across a wide frequency range. The high definition tweeter with ventilation hole maintains uniform centring of the diaphragm. Finally the new crossover network reproduces the smoothness of natural sound expected from a true Denon.

The new D-M38DAB combines high-quality sound with a beautiful appearance. Moreover, it features versatile connectivity with clever ease-of-use. It will be available in July in a black or silver receiver finish, with black wood finish loudspeakers, at an SRP of £329.99.
