Dangbei has released its new flagship projector model, the DBOX02 (previously called Mars Pro 2), which claims to be the World’s first Google TV 4K UHD laser projector with a built-in, licensed Netflix app.
Tech Note: 4K UHD Resolution is achieved via pixel shifting.
The DBOX02 incorporates DLP technology with support from an ALPD Laser Light Engine to project bright images ranging from 60 to 200 inches in size.
Dangbei’s Brightest Projector
With a stated 2450 ISO lumens light output powered by a laser light source, the DBOX02 is Dangbei’s brightest projector so far, making it usable in rooms where ambient light may be present. The projector’s light output complements HDR performance, with support for the HDR 10, HDR 10+, and HLG formats.
Image Optimization
The DBOX02 incorporates InstanPro AI Image Setup. This feature leverages a combination of dToF, CMOS, and AI algorithms to offer a range of functionalities, such as faster autofocus, auto keystone, screen fit, obstacle avoidance, eye protection, and AI brightness control.
Gaming and More
Dangbei DBOX02 has a dedicated game mode with low latency, 4K 60Hz refresh rate, HDMI 2.1, and WiFi 6 ensures seamless gameplay. MEMC (Motion Estimation Motion Compensation) technology smooths out fast action for sporting events and more.
Tech Note: DBOX02 comes with 3D capabilities including Blu-ray.
Smart Features
In addition to its core video or audio features, the DBOX02 incorporates streaming via the Google TV OS. Google TV’s interface allows users to manage watchlists, and multiple profiles, and get personalized recommendations from all preferred streaming services, including Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, Hulu, Disney+, and more.
Tip: The Netflix App is officially licensed and pre-installed so that easy access and smooth playback is assured.
Audio Features
DBOX02 also incorporates a sound system with dual 12W speakers, a spacious 600ml sound chamber, Dolby Audio, and DTS:X support, creating a next-level cinematic soundscape. However, you can also listen on headphones or connect the DBOX02 to a soundbar or external audio system via its digital optical output or HDMI-eARC connection.
