Russound’s new iBridge technology provides extensive metadata and music library navigation, like never before
NEWMARKET, N.H., Sept. 9, 2005 — Russound, a leading manufacturer of award-winning multiroom audio products, is pleased to announce the debut of Russound’s iBridge technology at CEDIA Expo 2005. With an iBridge adapter or iBridge dock (coming soon), an iPod can be added to a multiroom system and be controlled from Russound RNET keypads and touchscreens as if the iPod was in the user’s hands. The iBridge adapter will be available in December 2005 (price to be announced).
Built on RNET Technology, iBridge delivers an entirely new level of iPod integration. iPod owners can walk in the door, dock the iPod and their entire music collection is ready to be shared throughout their multiroom system. RNET products, such as the UNO-TS2 Smart Color Touchscreen, display metadata relating to music playing: song title, artist and album appear on screen with each new selection.
iPod owners have the ability to select music a variety of ways. iBridge offers extraordinary navigation, metadata and control. Users can choose from their music library, by playlist, genre, artist, album and song titles. There are numerous choices for arriving at song selections. Instead of a simple playlist up/down, users can drill down into their vast music collection in seconds to find the perfect track to fit their mood while viewing the results of their choices on the UNO display.
With iBridge, installers can give their customers more than a glorified battery charger, they can give them the convenience of their iPod music library for everyone in the home to share all with minimal installation requirements; essentially offering more, for less.
“With the iPod phenomenon still going strong, requests for iPod compatibility with flexible control needed to be answered. Paramount to Russound, was our requirement for full iPod navigation, not just playlist up/down,” said VP of Strategic Business Development Jeff Kussard. “iBridge gives users the means to fully integrate their iPod music library into their Russound RNET system, and gives integrators an easy to implement and profitable value add.”
