Boost Mobile and Madsteez Align to Offer New Art Medium For Youth

Leading Youth Wireless Provider Partners with Renowned Artist offering Exclusive Art to Customers

IRVINE, Calif. — Boost Mobile today announced an exclusive content deal with renowned artist Madsteez offering its youth wireless customers an opportunity to own a piece of limited edition artwork on their Boost Mobile phone for a fraction of the gallery price.

“Our goal is to help discover, share and support art and design that is relevant and interesting to international youth,” said Mark Fewell, head of Boost Mobile’s business development unit. “The mobile phone is a new canvas available to artists, and with Boost’s artist collaborations we are excited that our customers can not only customize their phone to their personality but they can also now acquire artwork affordably via that medium. Boost’s partnership with Madsteez is a further evolution of the art projects that we started doing around a year ago with the Retail Mafia, and we have plenty more international projects in the works.”

Originally on display at Boost Mobile’s Street Culture Lounge and Gold Box Mission during the MAGIC and ASR tradeshows, the partnership with Madsteez will expand beyond wireless content. Boost Mobile also plans to collaborate with the artist to design limited edition mobile accessory collections, as well as other products that are relevant to mobile communication and pop culture. Boost Mobile’s support of a creative lifestyle, culture and attitude is represented by this exclusive deal as an extension of the brand’s commitment to enhancing the youth wireless experience.

“Boost Mobile has been a street level brand since its inception, and I am stoked to team up with a company who makes an effort to develop an organic relationship with its artists that build into a future,” Madsteez said. “Since pretty much everyone has a cell phone these days, Boost has provided me the opportunity to introduce my artwork to a new audience, making it easily accessible for those wanting something different from the ordinary stock wallpaper.”

For a limited time beginning December 2006, MadSteez’ custom designed wallpapers will be available to Boost Mobile customers for $1.99 at www.boostmobile.com. Boost Mobile’s strategic alliance with artists, such as MadSteez, opens an opportunity for a wider audience to get acquainted with some of the country’s most sought after artists.

About Madsteez
Growing up on the outskirts of Washington DC, artist Madsteez (AKA Mr. Ween) was peculiarly sculpted into what he is today. Born blind in his left eye with three first names — Mark Paul Deren — Madsteez, 26, took a turn in his life after an unfortunate loss in the 1985 Racquetball Championships. An ill sense of humor materialized through frequent games of Biscuit and developing nicknames for himself and friends. Madsteez became a ferocious kite walking, Nerds Rope eating, Dolorean loving, Zebra pin-striped fluorescent navy blue wearing young gentleman. His immeasurable abundance of creativity and electromagnetism has led to an extensive art collaboration list. For more information, visit www.madsteez.com.
