Auralex Debuts Three Levels of Room Analysis Service at CEDIA 2009

ATLANTA, GA – Auralex Acoustics is now offering three levels of their popular Room Analysis Service allowing customers more options for diagnosing their acoustical problems and developing the appropriate solution.

For years, Auralex has offered the FREE Room Analysis Service. Customers fill out a form with details about their project and provide diagrams with room dimensions. This information is used to acoustically model the space and to determine the most effective acoustical treatment plan tailored to the specific room and application.

The new Room Analysis PLUS Kit is a user-friendly package that provides tools needed to acoustically analyze any room and will be on display at the upcoming CEDIA show (Booth 1317). This kit includes an omni-directional measurement microphone, a USB drive with frequency sweeps and detailed instructions on how to conduct the test. It is required that the customer has the ability to playback and record .WAV files simultaneously.

This recorded .WAV file is e-mailed back to Auralex with the requested room information (diagrams, photos, etc.). The recorded file is compared to the original source file in order to derive the Frequency Response, Impulse Response, Waterfall Plot and Reverberation Time for the room being analyzed. This allows the technical staff at Auralex to have access to hard data of the customer’s acoustical issues, yielding a more accurate analysis. The Room Analysis Plus Kit is available for $299.99 through Auralex’s established network of dealers.

“By offering Room Analysis Plus as a retail product, Auralex is able to provide consumers with a convenient and cost-effective solution to diagnosing and treating acoustical inaccuracies,” says Lead Acoustical Engineer Gavin Haverstick. “Through Room Analysis Plus we can pinpoint the acoustical anomalies of any room through direct sound measurements to more accurately analyze the space and provide the best treatment solutions possible.”

Auralex also offers Room Analysis Pro, an on-site analysis of room acoustics and sound quality. Working directly with the dealer to coordinate the project details, Auralex will create a quote based on job scope and site location, and schedule the actual on-site visit. Acoustical measurements will be taken and then analyzed in order to create an report within five to seven business days of the on-site visit.

The cost of the Room Analysis Pro service is quoted on a per project basis. Most projects will fall into the range of $1,500-$2,000 per day plus expenses.
