ASUS ZenFone Zoom Best Smartphone Camera?

ASUS ZenFone Zoom Lens

World’s Thinnest 3X Optical-Zoom Smartphone With 10-element Lens

ASUS introduced ZenFone Zoom, the world’s thinnest 3X optical-zoom smartphone with optical image stabilization, real tone flash and laser auto-focus to eliminate shakes and blurred shots. The 5mm thin metal unibody phone (model ZX551ML) has a 5.5-inch 1920×1080 (403 ppi) Full HD IPS display, with a protruding camera. Meanwhile, the cover-glass and touch-panel layers eliminates the air gap, bringing everything closer to the user’s touch.

The phone uses a 13-megapixel Panasonic SmartFSI image sensor that claims to capture more light and color than any other smartphone. The innovative 10-element digital eye was created by the optics experts at Hoya. Glass, synthetic and prismatic lenses are meticulously configured in a dual-prism periscope arrangement to maximize incoming light and capture the best possible photo quality. Built-in optical image stabilization (OIS) ensures sharper, steadier shots every time, even at maximum 3X optical magnification. ZenFone Zoom’s OIS enables users to shoot with slower shutter speeds for longer exposures, equivalent to up to four stops. ASUS says that means your photos are clearer and brighter.

The rear camera benefits from dual-LED Real Tone flash to capture lifelike colors and skin tones for indoor photos. Furthermore, the camera’s laser auto-focus adjust in just 0.2 seconds. ZenFone Zoom even has an integrated a safety loop and many stylish strap options, for confident shooting from any angle. Not to be forgotten, the battery is said to recharge to 60% in just 39-minutes. ASUS says that allows it to recharge 3.4x faster than typical smartphones. Rounding out the feature set, this phone offers Category 4+ LTE, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, four laser-engraved antenna, and improved audio. However, most users would likely buy this phone just for the camera. Early reviews says that it lives up to expectations.
