AMIMON WHDI Technology To Be Featured at CES In Forthcoming Belkin Wireless HD Solution

Powered by AMIMON’s WHDI technology, the Belkin solution will wirelessly connect HD sources and HDTVs throughout the home

Santa Clara, Calif.– January 3, 2008 — AMIMON Inc., an emerging leader in semiconductor technology for wireless transmission of high-definition (HD) video, has partnered with Belkin International, Inc., a global leader in connectivity solutions, to demonstrate wireless HDTV connectivity at the 2008 International CES event, which runs January 7-10, 2008 in Las Vegas. The forthcoming Belkin product will be built upon the innovative Wireless High-definition Interface (WHDI) technology from AMIMON.
At CES, attendees and exhibitors can experience the Belkin solution wirelessly distributing HD content between HD video source devices such as Blu-Ray DVD players and HDTVs via WHDI links. The Belkin product will showcase WHDI’s ability to deliver uncompressed HD video to HD displays from CE devices throughout the home. AMIMON’s WHDI technology achieves the same quality consumers currently enjoy with wired HD video inputs, including HDMI, DVI and component video.
Interested parties are invited to see AMIMON’s WHDI technology at the Belkin booth, No. 30368 at South Hall 3. Demonstrations based on AMIMON’s WHDI technology can be viewed at various locations in the Las Vegas Convention Center as well as at AMIMON’s suite, No. 23117 at the Las Vegas Hilton (to coordinate a demonstration, e-mail ces2008@amimon.com).
“Belkin is committed to delivering well-designed and easy-to-use products that seamlessly integrate technology into your lifestyle,” said Hanoz Gandhi, director of product management for Belkin. “WHDI is the only technology we’ve seen capable of wirelessly delivering flawless uncompressed HD video streams over a long range. This was key in our decision to integrate AMIMON’s technology.”
“WHDI is setting a new standard for wireless HDTV connectivity that signifies a new era of the digital home entertainment experience,” said Noam Geri, AMIMON’s vice president of marketing and business development. “In 2008, consumers can expect a full range of WHDI-based products to be available by several leading manufacturers, including TVs and projectors embedded with WHDI, and aftermarket WHDI video accessories lead by Belkin’s wireless HD solution.”
About WHDI
WHDI-based products will enable a new level of entertainment experience; consumers are now free to wirelessly distribute HD video content anywhere around the home:
• Multimedia PC: From the PC in the office to the wireless HDTV in the living room
• Gaming: From the gaming console in the kids’ room to the projector in the basement
• Home Theater: From the media server in the closet to every HDTV in the home
• Lifestyle: From the DVR in the master bedroom to the Wireless HDTV in front of the treadmill in the garage
WHDI video-modem technology enables robust wireless transmission in the 5GHz unlicensed band of uncompressed HD video. WHDI has been demonstrated at ranges of up to 100 feet through walls, with quality equivalent to that achieved with an HDMI wire and with latency of less than one millisecond.
