Testing Shows RIDATA and Traxdata Brand High-Capacity Optical Discs to Be in Compliance with
Latest Version of DVD+RW Standards

Diamond Bar, CA — March 14, 2005 –Advanced Media, Inc. has announced that a recent addition to its optical disc lineup, the RIDATA 8x DVD+RW, has won certification by the Philips Intellectual Property and Standards division in The Netherlands. The certification means the product is in accordance with all of the latest specifications for DVD+RW products and may carry the DVD+RW logo. Advanced Media manufacturers and markets the popular RIDATA brand of recordable CD and DVD media, electronic storage products, and digital media accessories.

“RIDATA and Traxdata (Europe) brand products are premium RITEK grade quality products, they are the very best discs we have to offer. Manufacturing a high-speed read/write DVD disk, such as our new 8x DVD+RW, requires highly precise production processes as well as a high-level understanding of the technology involved in the needed dying and mass production procedures,” stated Andy Huang, Marketing Manager for Advanced Media (RITEK USA). “To be the second company to achieve this significant certification clearly demonstrates that we are a preeminent manufacturer in the optical media industry. Receiving the Philips certification ensures users the RIDATA or Traxdata disc they are using has excellent playback and recording compatibility.”

The high-capacity RIDATA 8x DVD+RW optical disc is ideal for high volume data recording, archiving, and playback. It allows users to rewrite up to 1000 times on the same disc. The use of an exclusive, high quality Phase Change material in the recording layer assures high durability and reliability during recording and playback, making it a versatile storage solution.

Its huge capacity provides the data storage market an outstanding media. It, literally, stores thousands of digital photographs, or up to two hours of digital video in SP Mode or four hours in EP Mode. In terms of data transfer rate, the Advanced Media RIDATA 8x DVD+RW recording speed (1350KB per second times eight) is 72 times faster than that of a 1x CD (150KB per second). The RIDATA 8x DVD+RW is an optimal solution for copying high quality video, sound, and large capacity data in both AV and PC systems.

In the Philips disc verification process, products are tested to be in conformance with relevant standards. Regarding DVD+RW discs, this includes measuring selected mechanical and optical parameters, a read out of ADIP data, assorted measurements for both blank and recorded discs in a reference writer, and testing the playability of recorded discs in a reference reader at various speeds and radii. Certificates are issued for products which prove to be in conformance with the specification.

The verification procedure must be completed before the disc is released for commercial use. Once successfully completed, the product is entitled to carry the DVD+RW logo.

Advanced Media’s latest optical disc is compatible with most leading readers and writers. Storage acceleration tests have shown it will provide safe storage for over 30 years, making it an excellent medium for long-lasting archival purposes. Its use of premium organic dye material ensures excellent quality, stable writing. It offers superb UV and heat resistance.

The RIDATA 8x DVD+RW is now available through selected retailers, RIDATA distributors, and at various online outlets. It features popular street pricing for a wide variety of quantities.
