Adder Launches KVM over IP Switch with Stereo
Audio & Unsurpassed Port Capacity
AdderView CATxIP 1000 Provides SMBs with ultimate Control and
Flexibility of their IT Systems

NEWBURYPORT, MA — Nov. 10, 2008 — Adder, a leading developer of KVM switches, extenders and KVM over IP solutions, today announced the launch of the AdderView CATxIP 1000. The AdderView CATxIP 1000 is a high density, small form factor KVM switch that provides local, remote and global access for users who need to control multi-platform operating systems and hardware. The CATxIP 1000 combines USB console support, global IP access and a full professional KVM feature set to create a truly modern KVM switching solution delivering high quality video and CD quality audio.

The flexibility of the CATxIP 1000 makes it well suited for a gamut of applications including professional server installations, industrial processes and office control. The CATxIP 1000 makes full enterprise grade functionality and quality available to everyone in a compact desktop format. The use of CATx cable from the computer to the switch allows for a much smaller switch and greatly reduced cable bulk while delivering increased flexibility. Part of the CATx Series of Adder KVM devices, the CATxIP 1000 has been designed to minimize space requirements where space is at a premium and maximize flexibility both in use and location.
Up to four CATxIP 1000 devices can be mounted in a 1U rack space and further cascaded to provide KVM control over 256 target computers.

“The CATxIP 1000 uses a Java web browser or RealVNC client software that, unlike HTTPS web browsers, is designed specifically for secure, high performance KVM over IP applications,” said Simon Clew, Sales Director. “Couple that with the onboard enterprise grade security using AES 128 bit encryption and RSA 2048 bit authentication, and the CATxIP 1000 is the obvious solution for global computer management.”

The CATxIP 1000 delivers a wide range of features including digital stereo audio, high resolution video, USB device control and an advanced on screen display and serial control for remote switching, power control and synchronization with other CATxIP 1000 units. Users can also leverage security profiles which identify the user prior to handing over control and even duplicate the connection profiles onto other CATxIP 1000 devices if required. The CATxIP 1000 can be connected to just about any type of host including PC, Server, Mac or Sun using Adder’s Computer Access Modules (CAMs) to enable broad connectivity options. The CATxIP 1000 technology is available as a board only solution for integration with other equipment such as rack drawers or industrial equipment.

Pricing & Availability:
The AdderView CATxIP 1000 is available through local distribution partners around the world. Additional product information can be found at AdderView CATxIP 1000. The 16-port AdderView CATxIP 1000 will carry a list price of $1395 USD.
