Acoustic Energy Introduces AE307² On-Wall LCR Speaker to Complete 300 Series

Affordable and versatile on-wall LCR speakers work as front, center, or surround channels with Acoustic Energy 300 Series loudspeakers.

With CEDIA 2025 kicking off this week, all eyes are on new in-wall, in-ceiling, and on-wall loudspeakers. For anyone not keen on punching holes in drywall or ceilings—but still willing to run cables and mount a bracket—on-wall designs offer a modern, space-saving alternative that never touches the floor. Acoustic Energy stepped into this category just over two years ago, and now they’ve doubled down with the all-new AE307² (also known as AE307 MK2).

This versatile LCR speaker is designed for small to medium rooms and home theater setups, featuring a new cabinet and drivers that push performance well beyond the outgoing model while holding the same competitive price point. It’s the logical evolution of their 300 Series, and it puts them right up against other players like DALI, who have also made strong moves into this space.

Finished in walnutsilk-touch matte black, or matte white, the AE307² brings a minimalist look that hides some very premium detailing. Acoustic Energy has gone with color-matched trims and magnetic cloth grilles to keep the design clean, and for anyone setting up a home theater, there’s also an optional angled desk stand that locks in the ideal listening position. It’s a practical, modern approach—stylish enough for living spaces, flexible enough for dedicated rooms.

“With the launch of the AE307², the new 300 Series is now complete. The addition of a versatile LCR gives customers the flexibility to build a multi-channel system around the 300 Series that delivers high-quality sound while integrating seamlessly into modern living spaces.” — Mat Spandl, Managing Director, Acoustic Energy

Advanced Cabinet Design and Driver Technology in the Acoustic Energy AE307²

The AE307² isn’t just a facelift—it’s a proper rework of the 300 Series. At the heart is a new 4.7-inch mid-woofer made from a paper and coconut husk composite. Yes, coconut husk. It’s not just a tropical gimmick; the added stiffness reduces breakup modes, giving the cone a smoother, cleaner response across the midrange. Pair that with a new 1-inch soft-dome tweeter, and you’ve got high frequencies that are open and delicate without needing to be force-fed through EQ trickery.

The tweeter design is straight out of the Corinium project playbook: a neodymium ring magnet, a large vent in the copper-shielded pole, carefully tuned absorption material, and a contoured rear chamber. Translation: less distortion, wider dispersion, and a treble response that doesn’t knife your ears off-axis. Add the WDT waveguide and you get broad, even coverage without the baffle diffraction mess.

Cabinet design is where Acoustic Energy pulled the bigger lever. The Resonance Suppression Composite (RSC™)—once kept for the Reference and 500 Series—has trickled down here. It’s a constrained-layer sandwich of MDF and bitumen that shuts down cabinet resonance better than standard MDF or plywood. The AE307² packs all this into a shallow, sealed enclosure with a passive radiator, so it can be mounted vertically or horizontally without choking itself against the wall.

Even the crossover wasn’t left on autopilot. Lessons from the Corinium project brought a lighter touch, cutting phase distortion and keeping the drivers integrated without the usual heavy-handed filtering. The result is engineering-led refinement across the board, not a marketing exercise dressed up with shiny finishes.

The Bottom Line

The Acoustic Energy AE307² completes the 300 Series with a versatile on-wall LCR that makes building a full system straightforward and cost-effective. For potentially under $1,200, you can assemble a two-channel setup that delivers clarity and balance, while a five-channel system without a subwoofer stays under $3,000, giving modern home theaters a serious sonic upgrade without breaking the bank. These speakers tend to pair well with amplification from Unison Research, Cambridge Audio, or Marantz, ensuring the system sounds cohesive whether for music or movies.

The AE307² are available now from authorized retailers with a suggested retail price of £429 each and £49 for the optional stand. US and Canadian pricing will be updated when provided by the distributor, but could be around $600 each or more depending on tariffs.

Definitely intrigued after reading this and your other reviews, but who is the distributor?

    Did Fidelity Imports drop them?
