Acogito Announces the World’s First Remote Recording Agent Service Combined with the State-of-the-Art, HD Personal Video Recorder with Dual Tuner

Acogito, a personal media entertainment carrier company, announced it has developed the world’s first remote recording agent service (called “ACO SERVICE”) incorporated with its own HD personal video recorder — enabled set-top-box with dual HD tuners (called “ACO PVR”). The company said that with a combination of the state-of-the-art ACO PVR and the best-of-breed ACO SERVICE, consumers can experience the new way of watching TV with the least hassle from the initial set-up to the continued daily use, which would bring the use of PVR closer to everyone’s daily digital life.

“We have made every effort to accommodate the needs from most PVR users into our products and services,” said Jason Chung, president & CEO of Acogito. “Acogito’s goal is to provide consumers with innovative technology in PVR-related products to make their life easier and more enjoyable. We are glad to introduce the ‘POWER ON, JOY ON’ concept to the most potential PVR users.”

ACO SERVICE utilizes the company’s proprietary, patent-pending RCXML (Remote Control eXtensible Markup Language) technology, which was specifically developed by Acogito for remote controlling the PVR and other consumer electronics devices at home. In addition to having the most common features available in current PVR products in the market such as time-shifting, online remote scheduling, etc., ACO SERVICE exclusively provides consumers following additional user-friendly features: i) Hassle-free, easy & convenient, automatic set-up, initialization and registration, ii) Mobile remote scheduling through cellular phone, PDA, etc., iii) CRM-based, remote recording agent service that automatically records each consumer’s favorite programs into his/her ACO PVR even without the consumers’ recording request.

ACO PVR runs with a reliable embedded-Linux operating system. It is equipped with an embedded RCXML interpreter for communication and dual HD digital tuner (Hybrid ATSC/QAM combo with NTSC) for reception of analog & digital, terrestrial & cable TV signals. With its dual HD tuner capability, it can perform two WRITE (Record) & two READ (Live/Replay) of HD programs simultaneously. Incorporated with EPG information, its Graphic User Interface is designed to be user-friendly.

ACO SERVICE and ACO PVR will be commercially available in the U.S. market from July 2006.
