CES 2026 may have had a focus on AI and household robots, but there was plenty to see for TV lovers, including a new brighter, higher performance line of OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) TVs from LG. The company showed off their C6 midrange model, G6 flagship and a new version of their stylish Wallpaper TV (W6), which offers exceptional video performance with a cabinet depth of just 9mm (0.35 inches). We got to spend some quality time with the new TVs in the company’s private suite and there are several things worth mentioning.
The big news on the picture quality side is the addition of LG’s Hyper Radiant Color technology to the G6 and W6 flagship TVs. This includes a new Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 OLED panel, featuring LG’s Brightness Booster Pro technology which makes it approximately 20% brighter than last year’s G5. If the math checks out, this means the G6 (and W6) could measure up to around 3,000 nits of peak brightness, which is exceptional brightness for an OLED TV.
There’s also enhanced color processing, an upgraded Alpha 11, Gen 3 processor and a new Reflection Free Premium screen coating which improves bright room viewing performance without losing those deep OLED black levels we love. LG says the G6 is actually almost four times brighter in peak luminance than this year’s entry level OLED TV, the B6 (which we did not see in the suite, but we expect to be at least as bright as last year’s B5 model).
Wallpaper TV, Version 2.0
The W6 is a new version of the original W7 Wallpaper TV that LG released in 2017. While that original model was roughly as thick as 2 US quarter coins, the new W6 is only slightly thicker at 9 mm (0.35 inches). But while the original version required a bulky wired soundbar which included the speakers as well as all the input and output ports, the new W6 includes built-in speakers for a much more seamless and integrated look. Connectivity to the TV is handled with the newest version of LG’s wireless “Zero Connect” box. It can be placed up to 33 feet (10 meters) away from the TV and can handle full bandwidth 4K video with Dolby Vision HDR at up to the panel’s native 165 Hz refresh rate.

All that the W6 requires is a power connection. The integrated recessed wall mount and bracket allow the TV to be mounted flush, right against the wall for a super low profile look. And if you decide to mount it on a stand out in the room, the TV’s back panel is finished in an elegant dark ebony faux wood finish. The company had one of their W6 TVs displaying custom artwork that matched the wall around it and we didn’t even notice that there was a TV there until it sprang to life displaying bright, colorful 4K content. And with LG’s new Reflection Free Premium screen, reflection from room lights or light coming in from windows is greatly minimized (though not completely eliminated).
The W6 Wallpaper TV will be available in 77-inch and 83-inch screen sizes.
LG G6: Same Great Picture Quality, More Traditional Design
For those who aren’t as concerned about getting the slimmest TV in the world, the G6 features the same excellent picture quality of the W6 but in a more traditional chassis. It includes all the inputs and outputs right on the back and can be stand- or wall-mounted. The included wall-mount option features a recessed mount for flush-to-wall mounting. The G6 includes the same Hyper Radiant Color technology with the 20% brighter Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 OLED panel, enhanced color processing and Reflection Free Premium screen coating. The new Alpha 11 Gen 3 processor is actually capable of doing its image processing in 12 bit precision, though the panel itself is still a 10-bit panel. This new processor is available in all sizes of the C6, G6 and W6 series TVs in 2026.

Like the W6, the G6 features a native 4K/165 Hz panel and is packed with gaming features including NVIDIA G-SYNC® and AMD FreeSync Premium compatibility for tear-free, ultra-smooth gameplay. With a 0.1ms pixel response time and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), LG’s latest OLED Evo AI panels on the G6 and W6 should satisfy even the most demanding gamers. The C6, G6 and W6 also get ULL (Ultra Low Latency) Bluetooth for less than a millisecond response time with Bluetooth gaming controllers connected wirelessly to the TV for cloud-based gaming.
The G6 will be available in 48-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, 77-inch, 83-inch and 97-inch screen sizes, though the 48-inch and 97-inch versions will not get the Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 OLED panel nor the Reflection Free Premium screen coating.
C6 Midrange OLED Gets a Big Boost in Picture Quality
While LG has always featured their best OLED panels in their flagship TVs, the more affordable and popular “C series” has historically gotten a step-down panel with a bit lower overall performance and lower peak brightness. That changes in 2026. This year, the 77-inch and 83-inch models in the C Series will be getting LG’s best OLED panel – the Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 panel – with its higher peak brightness and superior performance. However it does not get Hyper Radiant Color tech (nor Brightness Booster Pro), so the panel won’t be quite as bright as the G6 (though still plenty bright). The C6 also features a traditional glossy screen coating without LG’s new Reflection Free Premium technology. Screen sizes 65 inches and down will get LG’s latest traditional W-OLED panel, which still features those awesome OLED black levels thanks to its pixel-perfect lighting controls, but lower peak brightness.

LG is differentiating the models with an “H” at the end for the ones that include the Tandem RGB OLED panel. Screens sizes of the C series include 42-inch, 48-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch in the C6 series and 77-inch and 83-inch in the C6H series. All models in the C Series get the latest Alpha 11, Gen 3 processor (same one in the G6 and W6) for improved upconversion and handling of low bandwidth streaming content. It also boosts the performance of the WebOS operating system (now at version 26), so navigating through settings and content should be a more seamless and responsive experience.
LG will also release a B Series entry level OLED in 2026 for those who want to get a taste of that great OLED picture performance at a lower cost of entry.
AI On-Board
Like most TV makers, LG is integrating advanced AI (Artificial Intelligence) into all of its 2026 sets in order to enhance the overall customer experience. Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot are available to allow users to speak natural language questions and receive tailored responses. An upgraded AI Concierge enhances viewing by helping customers explore content-related information on-screen with minimal interruption. Activated by voice or the newly improved Magic Remote, users can access the new ‘In This Scene’ feature for details on cast and crew as well as related content. This entire AI ecosystem is secured by LG Shield, which LG says, “safeguards customer’s personal data through advanced encryption and security measures, letting users enjoy personalized experiences with peace of mind.”
The Bottom Line
We’re happy to see LG continuing to invest its money and engineering resources into bringing OLED technology to its peak levels of performance. The new 2026 line-up looks pretty impressive in person, and we’re excited to see LG’s best Tandem RGB OLED panel featured in their more affordable C series line, though we would have preferred that to make it to all C series screen sizes instead of just the two largest screens. Also, company reps told us that the premium to upgrade from G6 to W6 should be reasonable. While precise pricing and availability has not yet been announced, we expect it to be inline with last year’s models and we expect these TVs to start rolling out some time in March or April.
