Leema Acoustics’ Range of High-End Audio Components Are Now Available in the USA

North American audiophiles can now experience Leema Acoustics’ Welsh-made hi-fi components.

They make high-end hi-fi components in Wales? Indeed they do. Leema Acoustics was founded in 1998 by two ex-BBC sound engineers and all of their components and cables are handmade in Wales using UK- and European-sourced components.

Leema’s distribution on this side of the pond has always felt somewhat spotty and that’s a shame because they make excellent sounding components. The good news is that their products are now available in the USA following a distribution deal with California-based Source Systems.

The new tie-up brings Leema Acoustics’ Welsh-made hi-fi range to Source Systems’ national dealer network and gives North American audiophiles the chance to discover Leema at an important time for the company as its critically acclaimed Quantum range is set to expand in the autumn with the forthcoming Electron CD player.

With the Quantum range complemented by the flagship Constellation series and the classic entry-level Essentials phono stage, US music lovers can configure a premium handmade Leema system to suit a range of playback and amplification scenarios with ease.

Commenting on the USA deal, Andy Moore Leema Acoustics’ global sales manager said, “After a number of meetings with Mark at Source Systems, it quickly become apparent that both Leema Acoustics and Source Systems are driven by sound and the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to experience truly accurate music reproduction.

“We cannot wait to get started with Mark, Karen and the Source System team, giving the USA an opportunity to experience  studio-grade electronics in a home environment”.

Source Systems’ co-founder Karen Gurvey added: “Since 2012 Source Systems of California has been dedicated to the import, representation and distribution of high resolution, network and PC audio system components.

“Leema Acoustics fills a void in our line offerings, allowing us to provide full system solutions in advanced digital audio for our retail dealers and their audiophile consumers.”

The Bottom Line

Leema Acoustics has a rather wide range of components and cables that are still within range for the vast majority of music listeners and the only issue has been their availability here in the United States.

One could make the argument that there are far too many brands and products right now that don’t really differentiate themselves very well from the competition to really stand out.

Leema enters a rather crowed market but our experience with their products has always been positive and we think they offer solid value for the money.
