Focal Powered By Naim Tampa Brings the High-End Experience to the Gulf Coast

On Thursday, February 20, 2025, the latest Focal Powered by Naim luxury audio store opens in Tampa, Florida.

First person to make a “Gulf of America” remark wins a pair of used first generation Beats — only backed over twice in the parking lot of a Publix in Bradenton.

The Focal Powered by Naim experience continues to expand and offer consumers the best possible way to listen to the entire Naim and Focal lineup, including their award-winning range of headphones and the brand new DIVA UTOPIA Active Wireless Loudspeakers ($39,999 USD). Focal Powered by Naim Tampa opens this week just in time for show this weekend and is another example of the concept built inside an existing high-end retailer.

The network currently boasts almost 70 retail spaces worldwide, with new store openings on the horizon.

The eCoustics team has already experienced the Focal Powered by Naim concept in Houston and Newport Beach and it’s worth a secondary read to understand how the locations operate.

New Kind of Retail Experience

The network’s boutiques embody the excellence of both brands and their renowned French and English know-how. They offer exceptional products—loudspeakers for the home and outdoor spaces, Home Cinema, hi-fi headphones, in-wall and in-ceiling loudspeakers, music streaming devices, amplification solutions, and more—all of which are magnified by their modern, comfortable surroundings.

Exclusive Access to Specific Products

While Focal and Naim products are available in numerous countries, only Focal Powered by Naim stores can offer certain exclusive creations, such as the aforementioned DIVA UTOPIA: the sensational wireless and connected active hi-fi loudspeaker unveiled in October 2024, or the genuine leather finish options available for customers to select for models from the Utopia range.

A Global Experience

The ever-growing Focal Powered by Naim network has a presence in a long list of countries and regions, through three types of space: stores dedicated to both brands; shop-in-shop’ formats located inside specialist audio centers; and ‘corners’ created on the premises of trusted retail partners.

You can find Focal Powered by Naim locations right now in France, England, United States, South Korea, Germany, China, India, Czech Republic, Canada, Poland, Lithuania, Taiwan, Hungary, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Turkey, Vietnam, Switzerland, Greece, Slovakia, and Indonesia.

North America Locations

  • USA: Houston (TX), Miami (FL), Austin (TX), Dallas (TX), Scottsdale (AZ), Las Vegas (NV), Orange County (CA), Timonium (MD), Jacksonville (FL), Asheville (NC), Huntsville (AL), Tampa (FL)
  • Canada: Saskatoon, Barrie, Winnipeg, Lethbridge, Markham, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto

New Gulf Coast Location

The newest Focal Powered by Naim Tampa location is based inside of Kontrol Freaks in Tampa, FL opening on Thursday, February 20, 2025. Services include Hi-Fi audio, home theater and media rooms, home control and automation, outdoor audio and video, shades, lighting, surveillance systems, networks and prewiring. They also work with architects and designers from beginning to end to integrate all systems within the home.

The Bottom Line

Focal and Naim continue to grow for the simple reason that they have created the ultimate and easiest shopping experience for consumers to demonstrate their products in the confines of a boutique listening environment.

The Focal Headphone Bar within every location gives listeners access to every Focal model and the opportunity to listen through Naim’s Uniti Atom HE which is one of the best network streamer/headphone amplifiers currently available.

Consumers looking for home theater and CI products can also check out Focal’s growing range of in-wall/in-ceiling, outdoor, and marine loudspeakers — which makes perfect sense in a market like Tampa which is the largest city in Florida on the Gulf of America…or Mexico. Depending on which way Google decides to name it this week on their maps.

Having not experienced the House of Sound yet in NYC, I don’t know how it compares, but I did visit the Focal Powered by Naim store in Houston and was rather impressed.

I do like the “soft” sell and the ability to try different systems so the concept has some merit.

It’s also helpful when you can try other brands of headphones and loudspeakers with the Naim electronics.

      Anton,

I think the concept has a lot of merit. And I agree that being able to use other brands of loudspeakers and headphones is helpful.

Naim and Focal are doing really well with this and it’s too late for others.

The House of Sound in NYC is unique. McIntosh/Sonus faber did it properly and it’s a great experience.

Better the “Gulf of America” or the “Gulf of the Gullible” (i.e., the Pacific Ocean that borders Commiefornia, Oregano and Warshingtone State.

Let those who are broffended be at ease. I am come only to claim the prize of a pair of “1st Gen. Beats”!!

    😉 Wink-Wink-Nudge-Nudge…

Focal makes some of the most beautimous speakers I’ve ever seen (and listened to music through) at shows like T.H.E. I cannot (yet) afford a pair of the speakers, specifically in the high gloss moss green color. But I do own a pair (at the lower end of the money scale!) of their ‘phones. Gorgeous.

And yes. They work great too!

Is there a Focal Powered by Naim shoppe on the left coast? It would be a treat to visit one as they do look nice and yes, I would behave myself. I like music and audio equipment. Focal’s offerings look and sound right.

      ORT,

I think the world has honestly gone sorta “nuts” and I don’t use that word loosely. As you know.

There is a Focal Powered by Naim in Newport Beach. Scroll down in the article to the link that I added.

        Got it Ian!

I will go there when I am well enough to drive that far without help. Unless one of my brothers is in town then they will enjoy going there as they too very much enjoy music and would gladly drive me up along with them!

        Thank you so very much!

          ORT,

I may have to visit the Tampa location when I’m able to do so. It’s about 3 hours NW of me at the moment. I could go to one of the other ones in S. Florida but traffic is a nightmare.
