I've read that the closer the switch is to the receiver the better off you are but its allot cheaper to run one cable 75 feet than it is to run 3 or 4. My dish setup is very similar to yours. I have 1 long cable going from inside the house out to the backyard, my switch is located on my dish1000 with 2 lnbs there patched into the switch with 2 1/2 foot long cables and a maybe 15 foot cable running to my other dish location. And so you plug the receiver port to the cable from the receiver and the lnbs into which ever way you want to organize them. Very basic stuff. what kind of lnbs are you using and what kind of switch?
