If for some reason your receiver isn't working than you might need to upgrade your bin file, or turn your autoroll off and enter the keys manually. But i highly suggest you guys get the autoroll fix. Autoroll fix for almost all receivers are out now, you just have to search for it at the right place www.dsscommunity .com |

Bronze Member Username: MartinpraguerBohemia Post Number: 23 Registered: Nov-06 | Just the note: I noticed the last "auto" Autoroll update on VS took much longer then previously (well over 5 minutes), I even panicked and started looking for new bin file, and meanwhile it came on. So I learn to give a time. Same applies when downloading new files to receiver. Give it an extra time. Just suggestion. Also if using "hard" reset using the switch in the back it's "healthier" for the receiver to do the "soft" switch "off" whenever you can first with the switch at the front and/or on remote. |

Bronze Member Username: MartinpraguerBohemia Post Number: 26 Registered: Nov-06 | One that's not twisted (or "cross-over"), that means wires don't get "twisted" from one end to other => signal from pin#2 on one end would be found on pin #2 on the other end, pin#3 one end on pin #3 on the other and so on. But are you asking about RS-232 cable (Serial cable) - or RJ45 (LAN cable-8pin-looks like phone plug)? My guess it's RS-232, since it's normally used communication cable between Computer/Receiver. I know some receiver manufactures are indeed using the two different kind of cables, so be sure, you have the right one. You should be able to find out from Manuf.site or a dealer. |

Silver Member Username: Dude123Post Number: 801 Registered: Jul-06 | Vanessa Philipsgous Pansat 2700 Programming Procedure: • Hook up your receiver to the computer on the com port.(You need RS232 null cable--> not straight through) Leave the receiver power OFF. • Once hooked up turn the receiver ON. • Open up the Loader. Then click on the bin file. • Once you got that bin file then click open. • After that download the bin file. • Wait till the 100% file has been downloaded. • You will get a message on your desktop "Download Completed". • Your receiver power will turn OFF automatically and then will be turned ON. • After that, unhook your receiver. • Attach receiver to your TV. • Type 8282, go to "set default key " click ok • Then exit. ENJOY TV |

If you are set to catch both of these, you can catch both Nimiq 2(82W) and Nimiq 1 (91W). You have to go behind the dish and turn it left by 28 degrees. You may get a signal when you turn it only 19 degrees but you should attempt to turn it full 28 degrees so you can get both Nimiq 2 and Nimiq1. Bronze Member Username: MartinpraguerBohemia Post Number: 28 Registered: Nov-06 | This applies to VS Xtreme - but similar for others, DON"T HAVE DO THIS FOR VIEWSAT at all - AUTOROLL is WORKING - that means it will get upadate automatically - just let it is for a few minutes (may have to reset it - front switch/rear swtich): To manually update keys: The below directions will only work if you have downloaded the latest Keys for DN. 1) Press: 'Menu' 2) Select '5-Options' 3) Change 'Auto Roll' from 'On' to 'Off' 4) Press 'Exit' 5) Select '3-Installation' (If asked to enter pin try '0000', this is the default pin) 6) Select '7-Code' 7) Select '3-Nagra' 8) Press the Left arrow until You see DISH 01 01 00 there 2 Dish so make sure you are in the right one. There are 5 rows of numbers 9) Press the down arrow to edit the Keys 1st line-00 is not part of the keys. Line 08 and 09 are the 00 Keys. The 08 and 09 Numbers are not part of the Keys so don't change them. Key code starts AFTER the 08 and 09 Numbers-16 Pairs of numbers. Line 88 and 89 are the 01 Keys. Again 88 and 89 Numbers are not part of the Keys, so don't change them. The 01 Key code is entered after the 88 and 89 Numbers----16 Pairs of numbers. Also i believe you have to input only "Active" part of the code.
